Probably because hospitalization for observation, or hospitalization for treatment, would all be counted the same. A hospital is also a good place to catch the Covid-19 virus. Remember, we had our first 14 cases here caused by ONE hospital in Kirkland. Those people were hospitalized for other reasons.
So such numbers would tend to be skewed (for much the same reasons as measuring 'infection' rates based on test results (that may be producing false positives).

That is PART of the problem. The other half is where are we getting OUR data and how are these cases being counted.
I have already described where we are getting our data (at least for the CDC). They are listing those who are testing positive, and death certificates filed where Covid-19 was 'the cause'. The actual cause of death of course was suffocation from lung damage, a condition exacerbated by previous lung damage such as smoking, previous illness, or just plain old age.
Good points; Hospitals are ALWAYS the last places you would want to go. They are virus incubators.
All we get are meaningless projections and models from Faux Fauci.
That's my point; hospitalizations is a far better number to be looking at than estimating the number of people who MIGHT have the virus and who can't get tested without symptoms.
I noticed they have added a link to a page providing hospitilizations. Its a # per 1000 or maybe 100000 but lots of different ways.

Interesting that deaths from Pneumonia are 12 times those of Covid.
To be expected really. Most old folks die of it with other cronic conditions leading to it. As its (c19) almost exclusively killing the elderly... well, it was a given

That's what I thought. Yet we hear all these stories about running out of equipment and hospitals being overrun. TY
Well they are having PPE (personal protective equipment) as you go through a lot of it for infectious stuff and c19 does raise the percentage of such patients so supply chains couldnt anticipate the jump in demand but so quickly. Add in that they would prefer to keep them in specially negatively vented and there are only so many such rooms so additional measures (work) is required to clean and disinfect.
It does up the workload.
Always a nugget of truth but perspective helps.
