The Deplorable Blue Collars, truckers, farmers, smelly Walmarters & bitter clingers

What do you mean we'll never know? Trump won my state by over 800,000 votes. How would my one vote for Hillary have changed the election. And if Hillary won my state she would have still lost the electoral college.

Do some math

Flash, its not just your vote. It's your vote PLUS everyone else's. I can't tell all the people in your state that they made a poor choice, but I can tell that to you since you're here.

You get that, right? You and millions like you made the same dumb choice and now we are all suffering the consequences.

So you think that, magically, will make up the $1.4T deficit your tax cuts caused? $60B from Medicare + All the discretionary spending cuts (all of it, including things like the IRS and FBI) you're still looking at a half trillion dollar deficit.

So your math doesn't even work out, assuming your rosy projections.

Also, who picks up the slack on all that spending you cut?

Because when you cut government spending, you're also cutting economic growth and not making it up anywhere.

So spending cuts are a recipe for a recession.

Also, our current state is what happens when you cut the administrative state; chaos in a crisis. So thanks for that too.

I don't believe you worked in government. I think you're exaggerating.

Medicare was only one example. I don't have the time to list all the cuts I would make. There is no slack to pick up when you eliminate waste and fraud that goes to doctors, chiropractors, dentists, supply houses and criminals who are ripping off the public.

If you eliminate, for example, the billions the military spent for Italian planes that were scrapped you don't have anything to take up the slack for unless you want to support Italian corporations and workers who are making crappy products.

I'm not responsible for how others vote--only myself. You supported a party that gave us a crappy candidate so you are as much to blame as anyone else--where is your blame and guilty?

And your party is about to do it again and you will vote the same irresponsible way. I might join you this time but I will feel really guilty.

Yeah, and thanks to that choice you made, we are all suffering now.

Way to go idiot. Good work. Wonderful judgment. Fantastic instincts. I'm sure the families of the 20,000 people dead from this crisis are grateful that you made such a shitty choice in 2016.

If you think the families of the 20,000 dead would be any better off if Hillary, Johnson, Stein, etc. would have won you are dreaming.

If you eliminate, for example, the billions the military spent for Italian planes that were scrapped you don't have anything to take up the slack for unless you want to support Italian corporations and workers who are making crappy products.

It was not "billions", it was $486 million. That is less than half a billion. And therein lies the problem. Bush tried to buy transport planes for the Afghans on the cheap, and it turns out they were worthless. So instead of being a story of wasteful overspending, it is a story of wasteful underspending.

We are not spending enough on infrastructure. It is not only that we are not improving our infrastructure, we are not even maintaining it. A decade from now, major bridges might be collapsing on a monthly basis. Sure we have saved a little money now, but what do you think that will do to our economy in the long run?

Why are you suffering? Because you've obviously made poor life choices and blame our president for them. Look in the mirror, you'll see a

RB who likes blaming "Jew Yorkers" for her personal failures claims that the economy is collapsing because millions of people made "poor life choices" at the same time.

She should put Hitler's cock back into her mouth, so she would stop talking.

Are they ripping off the public, or are insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and big medical groups doing that?

Because Health insurance alone accounts for almost half a trillion dollars in administrative costs every year.

This prescription to throw the baby out with the bathwater only shows you don't really have a grasp on how complicated the "free market" has made heath care.

All of this could be solved very easily; single payer, medicare for all, and elimination of private insurance companies. I'd even go further and nationalize the drug industry since they are the ones responsible for the opioid crisis they caused with their lies and malfeasance. In fact, I can't believe we still think pharmaceutical companies do anything more than commercialize drugs that were developed by the NIH and other government institutions. Hell, every single drug company spends more on marketing and adavertising than they do on research and development...and it's not even close.

If you eliminate, for example, the billions the military spent for Italian planes that were scrapped you don't have anything to take up the slack for unless you want to support Italian corporations and workers who are making crappy products.

I don't know what you're talking about here. Are you referring to the F-35?

I'm not responsible for how others vote--only myself.

"I take no responsibility at all"

You sure you're not a Trump voter?

Flash, even if that was true, don't you think that if you and millions just like you were responsible with your vote in 2016, we wouldn't be in this mess today?

You supported a party that gave us a crappy candidate so you are as much to blame as anyone else--where is your blame and guilty?

It's not the Democrats fault that you didn't take their warnings seriously. It's not the Democrats' fault that you saw Trump for what he was, but still made the choice to help him get elected by throwing your vote away. Now, multiply your action by 10 million and you get to the point of what I'm saying.

All I hear from you are excuses. Weak ones. You didn't vote Clinton because you truly believed, at the time, that your vote doesn't matter and that you won't really bear the consequences of that recklessness. But obviously, as you sit at home indefinitely, as 25,000+ people die, as 17M+ lose their jobs and health care, and as millions of victims are locked in their homes with their abusers, you find the choices you -and everyone else- makes in the voting booth do end up affecting your life in negative ways.

This excuse making feels like you're passing the buck onto others. What does it matter if someone else decides to act irresponsibly? You are the one who made your choice yourself, as you said. A choice that looks really fucking bad now. So you don't want to be responsible for your own choice, Flash. And you shirk that responsibility with excuse-making like "Electoral College" or "I live in a red state already". So do I, Flash. I know the electoral college exists and I also live in a red state, yet I voted for Clinton because that was the only thing I could do to prevent a Trump Presidency. You didn't do the same because you didn't think that we would be in this mess today. That's the only reasonable explanation.

You were careless, thoughtless, and lazy. You going to vote for Biden now?

Your memory is bad. You used to tell me what a bad instructor I was for caring more about the future of my students than the school budget.

Hold on Flash...

You were not working in government, you were working in education.

You weren't a bureaucrat. You weren't an administrator. You weren't an elected official. You were a "professor" (not tenured, obviously), and an "educator". You weren't a government worker and you didn't work in the bureaucracy.

So you exaggerated. Again. You wanted me to think that while you lectured maybe a couple times a week, that suddenly makes you a government employee.

Well, you might have been a STATE employee of the university or college you taught at, but you weren't a federal employee. You weren't a bureaucrat. You weren't an administrator.

And what little interaction with government bureaucracy you had was clouded by your inherent bias, as most anecdotes are.

Amazing that you call your past work a "government job" when you were employed by the university you "worked" at.

If you think the families of the 20,000 dead would be any better off if Hillary, Johnson, Stein, etc. would have won you are dreaming.

This is a lie you tell yourself to assuage your own guilty conscience for being a reckless and irresponsible abuser of the franchise of voting.

There is no world where any of those people would have done a worse job than Trump.

Not even Jill "I'm anti-Vaxx" Stein.

Why are you suffering? Because you've obviously made poor life choices and blame our president for them. Look in the mirror, you'll see a

You live vicariously through Trump because your own shitty life amounted to nothing, and you perceive him as getting back at all those people who made you feel small.

But it's not the people who make you feel small, it's you who is doing that to yourself.

Yes, it is personal. I have seen how people in government are greedy and seek more for themselves and their agency without regard to the public good. I'm not against government spending in principle, just in practice

And when did you see that? Was it when you were lecturing from behind a podium, or sitting in your office, grading papers?

Fact is you had very little, if any, exposure to the bureaucracy, and you stretched the definition of your employment in order to make me think that you were a government worker, when you were actually a professor who had pretty much nothing to do with bureaucracy or administration.

You call yourself "a government worker" so you can heap your shitty bias-filled perspective on everything, and you do that because you know that if you merely called yourself a "professor", no one would take anything you say about the bureaucracy seriously because you have nothing to do with it, and never did.

Stop. Bullshitting. Me.

You may be right about the guilty conscience. I feel guilty about how taxpayers think their money is being spent wisely when those spending it often do not care. If you don't feel guilty about it you should be ashamed about your lack of concern for your fellow Americans.

It's amazing that amidst the worst public health crisis in years, which is only because the institutions meant to protect us have been severely shredded, you still think that spending is the problem and not your "I hate government" mindset.

I'm sure the 17M former taxpayers don't give a shit about your concern for them, since they no longer have jobs or health care thanks to you.

The crisis right now is what cutting government spending leads to. Institutions have already been cut, and that's why we're seeing things like hospitals, unemployment offices, and public health agencies overwhelmed. This is what years of "Government is the problem" gives us.

This is exactly what you wanted, Flash...a country in tatters because the welfare state has been shredded.

Remember that as refrigerated trucks are used to hold the bodies of the deceased, before they are buried in mass graves.

Good choices you've made in your life, Flash. Really, really great. Hope sitting at home indefinitely as 17M people lose their jobs and health care, as 25,000 people die, and as millions of victims are locked in their homes with their abusers was totally worth the decades you spent advocating for the shredding of social safety nets because occasionally, you care about the deficit, but only when it helps your argument.

You own all of that. Good work. Maybe government isn't the problem, maybe the problem is you, Flash.

OK. A half billion wasted on worthless planes. According to the IG for Afghanistan spending many buildings were never finished or currently uninhabitable. He said officers are rewarded for how many contracts they issue with no regard to the quality or even completion of the work.

The funding for roads is being hurt today because less traveling results in less money in gas taxes.

WE OPPOSED THE WAR ON TERROR, FLASH.

It was bOtHsIdErIsTs who supported the President during the Iraq War build up. Remember? Remember the people who cast the Iraq War debate aside because "bOtHsIdEs ArE tHe SaMe"?

What side were you on then? Not on the right side of history, that's for fucking sure.

So it was another thing that we were right about, that you were either wrong about, or tried to BoTh SiDeS it, while ignoring the warnings.

It's a pattern with you.

Nonsense, lies, and bullshit.

The Federal Gas Tax hasn't been raised in over 27 years.

Again, this is an example of how stupid your "government spending is the problem" beliefs are.

More bad choices. It's like you are actively trying to make the wrong choice.

Are they ripping off the public, or are insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and big medical groups doing that?

That's the problem--everybody is ripping off the system. The FBI says in Miami some drug dealers switched to Medicare fraud because it is easier. Doctors engage in schemes to rip off Medicare (cases frequently appear in local newspapers) chiropractors, dentists.

Nobody suggested throwing the baby out with the bathwater. There are many reforms to the system which could help which I explained previously. The free market isn't responsible for the problems--it is government programs that ended up costing billions more than the forecasts which screwed up free market economics. Free market medicine is like LASIK and plastic surgery that has gone down in price due to competition and consumer choosing their provider.

Wouldn't Medicare for all require people to pay for their health insurance? If 16 million are unemployed how are they going to make those payments?

Nationalizing the drug industry doesn't take away any incentive to push drugs--it is just not called "profits" but it still more money. Look at the actions of the FDA which are overly friendly with the drug industry. A major problem of government regulation is regulating for the benefit of the industry rather than the public.

I don't know what you're talking about here. Are you referring to the F-35?

No, not the F-35.

"KABUL — The U.S. military is scrapping the Afghan air force’s entire fleet of Italian-made cargo planes, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday.

On the west end of Kabul International Airport, twin-engine C-27As sit side by side, sunlight reflecting off their gray wings and the green, black, and red of the Afghan flag emblazoned on their tails. For more than a year, though, most of the planes had been little more than expensive aviation exhibitions, unable to fly due to lack of spare parts and maintenance.

Now, despite spending nearly $600 million on the program, the U.S. is canceling the contract for the aircraft and disposing of all 16 planes delivered to the Afghan Air Force, the Journal reported."
