Brirx echos Trump, saying that "someone had to have known" (WTO or China)

Absolutely. Whether intentionally or not the virus began in a lab. We see now that it did not come from
the wet markets. Those opened up again a few weeks ago with nary a protest from the WHO, the CDC or anyone.
Why isn't the left screaming "China China China!!!"?

Well, for one thing it’s not Russia! Russia! Russia! Lol

I don’t even want to imagine if Russia did this to us. The left would be calling for WWIII.

The other reason is more obvious: The Tail must be pinned on Trump.

Hello dukkha,

no he didn't know early. the cruise ship was left at sea as a quarantine measure. Trump declared the shutdown right after it was known to be a pandemic.. also he shut down flights from Europe and China much earlier -
saving lives
Once again your TDS fails to mention China's outrageous culpability

He only decided to save lives after he lost plenty.

And then, only to save his own election chances.

CDC works for DT, the buck stops on his desk.
no it doesn't .
Do you think a POTUS is capable of looking at the technical aspects of a test kit and making a decision
whether it;s valid or not?
Executives delegate and rely on expert advice -exactly what happened here.

Your Trump Derangement Syndrome is in critical condition. Code red

that wasn't a Trump decision. the CDC (acting as an autonomous agency) rejected the kits.

CDC is a federal executive branch agency under the Department of HHS, and are led by Trump appointees.

Trump is responsible for the actions and effectiveness of the Executive Branch

Did you expect government competence when you vote for a party that professes hatred for government, government employees, and federal agencies?

i forgot about that..That was YUGE. Russia and KSA were deadlocked in a price war.

same fucking partisan rant. gawd you have become nothing but a hack.

What Trump can do is hire and fire people -which he does all the time- he can't evaluate masks or test kits.
He has to relay on the agencies recommendations

So your position is that the leader of the Federal Executive Branch has no responsibility or accountability for the effectiveness and competence of the Federal Executive Branch?

My theory is that a political party which expresses hatred of the government is not a party you want leading effective and competent government responses

Hello dukkha,

Wrong, all have criticized the president, and he advised Pence to stop talking to them until they paid him lip service.

The president is so insecure.

Anyone who doesn't suck up is either fired, tweet-shamed, or cut off from federal corona aid.
get your facts straight for once. Newsome and Cuomo (ex.) have publicly praised Trump

I didn't say that at all. POTUS has to manage the agencies.
He has to appoint quality people, but then has to let them do their things with their expertise

Micromanaging is as bad as no managing - and Cons don't "hate" government.
We want it scaled to problems
and not just tons of powers sent to the Feds ( federalism) and the 10th

what i have been saying since even before Trump was elected; China -not Russia - is the malign state actor

And you were right, as usual.

As was Trump. Between stealing our technology and our manufacturing jobs and now this virus, China has screwed us six ways from Sunday.

Russians ‘threaten us’ with their ridiculous troll farms. The left is behind parody.

Bottom line

We should never have been put in the position by a minority of voters to have a dim-witted erstwhile TV game show host leading our nation during a unprecedented crisis

Mistakenly titling this thread to be about the World Trade Organization (WTO) is a clear give-away of concerns lying more with trade than health.

IOW, the premise being that the economy is more important than lives.

I say no, lives are more important.
Not with this poster. He's delusional now, but I knew him when he was much younger. His spelling/grammar were never all that good. This was a typo.

It does not matter because Trump was notified early and chose to do nothing. Remember in the beginning when he wanted people on a cruise ship to die at sea so it did not double his numbers? He was also talking about 1 case early and then about 15 that would just turn to none. Trump knew very early and was dealing with it politically protecting his 2020 chances.
Correct. He knew on Jan. 3

I suppose because they do lots of good medical work in places nobody else will go to. They have doctors that give vaccines in African countries many would not go to.
The WHO had testing kits that 60 countries used and Trump rejected them, choosing to have the CDC make them instead. The CDC kits did not work and we lost precious time. That was one of Trump's first terrible mistakes.
To be accurate, we never use WHO tests. We rely on our private sector throughout history. CDC had a test that worked, but they fucked in up when they mass produced it.

Nevertheless, trump knew on Jan. 3, and should have notified governors that they might want to take necessary steps to limit the spread.

Instead, he held Klan rallies, and golfed.

Hello dukkha,

If he had a real team of qualified people who would tell him things he doesn't want to hear he would have known.

Instead, everybody who doesn't suck up is gone. He is left with nothing but yes-faces falling all over themselves to praise him.
Even so, intelligence agencies knew in December. trump was briefed on Jan 3, but we know that he only accepts happy news in his daily briefings or he pouts.

There was heated debate for weeks, as trump refused to accept the truth. Now he's looking for someone to blame, and his loyal followers are spreading the propaganda on social media.

December 31: China reports the discovery of the coronavirus to the World Health Organization.

January 3: CDC Director Robert Redfield sent an email to the director of the Chinese CDC, George Gao, formally offering to send U.S. experts to China to investigate the coronavirus.

January 5: CDC Director Redfield sent another email to the Chinese CDC Director, George Gao, formally offering to send U.S. experts to China to investigate the coronavirus outbreak,

January 6: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a travel notice for Wuhan, China due to the spreading coronavirus.

January 7: The CDC established a coronavirus incident management system to better share and respond to information about the virus.

January 11: The CDC issued a Level I travel health notice for Wuhan, China.

January 17: The CDC began implementing public health entry screening at the 3 U.S. airports that received the most travelers from Wuhan – San Francisco, New York JFK, and Los Angeles.
It's very unusual for you trumpkins to admit the truth. You just admitted that trump did know on Jan 3...as I've been saying.

Of course we knew. We sent 18 tons of PPE to China in January
