look not everything optimistic prediction/hope means it's going to come out roses ;
but I swear to Great Buddha "karma" requires a positive mindset to flourish.

I'd rather be wrong, then expecting bad news -because when the good stuff pokes thru my optimistic mindset
sees it and doesn't just dismiss it as an "outlier"or some such pessimism

I could understand if trump says we just cannot get them, at any price. But you are correct, he keeps droning on about them being too expensive. It is crazy.

His mind cannot move on from a past position. He is still thinking that disaster preparedness is a waste of money. We are in the disaster, so it no longer seems like a waste of money.

What about all those ventilators? What about all those people in states with double digit death counts who keep waiting for the Corona Prophecy to be fulfilled? If anyone has some explaining to do, it is our ‘experts’ and not Trump. They’ve been behind the curve from the start. They are paid to advise the President and they’ve failed.

Sweden has the roughly the same population as Michigan and has fewer COVID deaths—and they didn’t shut down their economy. Sweden is ‘beating’ Michigan by roughly a thousand deaths and in this game the low score wins. Granted, the discrepancy may be due to our ‘liberal’ method of recording COVID deaths but it sure sounds like we screwed the pooch.

Time to open up.

Have you missed the last 20 years of economics and the repeated problems with deflation we have seen over that time? How long has it been since any of the major economies have been able to consistently get 2% inflation?

During the Great Recession, we nearly slipped into a deflationary trap.
