No Peak Yet. Up To 3000 Deaths Per Day Coming; 200,000 New Cases Per Day...

Diversity Makes Greatness
Judy Woodruff: "We do have these apparently two new grim forecasts today. I want to ask about the CDC report yet. We haven't seen all the numbers. The White House is saying it's not their numbers, but they are talking about, by June 1, 3,000 deaths a day. They're talking about up to 200,000 new cases a day.

This is — this is the wrong direction."

Laurie Garrett:

"Absolutely, Judy. And it's a huge, explosive growth they're predicting.

And it's basically — if you look at the distribution that they are imagining, it's really the Prairie states, the sort of Mississippi Valley, and the Deep South states.

And it seems, I think — though we don't have access to the raw data that they are working with, but it does seem to coincide with these outbreaks that have been occurring inside of meatpacking plants, nursing homes, Veterans Administration hospitals, that have claimed large numbers of workers in those facilities, but haven't yet generalized into the larger community.

And I think they're projecting that there will be generalization, that a typical — an infected meatpacker, for example, might then infect their family members, some of those family members may infect local storekeepers, and so on.

So I think they're imagining a pretty explosive set of growths, all in fairly small remote areas, and, in many cases, rural counties."

Explosive forecasts

The president said on April 16th that the USA has 'passed the peak.'

BBC

The president was terribly wrong.

We have not passed the peak yet. It is getting worse. The worst is yet to come.

And now it is moving from the cities into rural areas, moving from Democratic strongholds into Republican ones.

How will that affect our politics?

The projections are very grim, and what's worse is the the priorities that the Trumpian Governors are taking, of forcing the average American to risk his/her life for the benefit of the big corporations who are big GOP political contributors. I wonder if the CEOs of these big corporations are going to risk their life and be on the front line with the average workers; I seriously doubt it????????????????????

McCarthy said if you like this economy you must vote not to impeach.

As if that had anything to do with guilt or innocence.

Are we to now believe that if the corona virus hit the stock market earlier that DT would have been convicted?"

No one is being forced to go back to work, Trumper.

If you respect the guidelines and feel safe, return to work.

Most states are now doing so, on a limited, moderate scale.

So shoving 40 million onto unemployment rolls, tossing tens of thousands of small businesses into bankruptcy and forcing people to stay home is a failed policy? AmIRight?

I don't think you can post without lying and looking like a retard. #moron

I’m not out in public, Trumper.

Are you?

I am; I got out every damned day to get to work. Work among my co-workers. Walk the streets without a mask. I even had a staffer test positive who was sitting at my desk for more than ten minutes.

No one else got infected; nor did his wife and daughter.

The fear mongering among the left and the PHONY media is despicable.

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services set up a website for employers to report workers who refuse to come to work and emailed companies about it Friday. The department’s policy indicates if people refuse to go back to work and their jobs are available, they cannot qualify for unemployment benefits.

Sounds good to me...no slackers, Trumper.

If your job is available and you choose to not return, you are making the choice to lose your unemployment.

I was “essential” with the FAA and I had to work through a hurricane.
