End of the line for noted traitor Robert E Lee

Replace all Confederate Statues with ones of Dolly Parton. She's done more for the South than the Confederacy ever did.

I dare say that a large part of her charm is because of the southern character that the Confederacy represented. Racism ? Horseshit. The generalization is inaccurate.

Hello Dachshynddawg,

BUT Lincoln wanted to deport all Blacks from America after emancipation. He even did actually manage to deport an initial few thousand. He was assassinated in 1865 in the midst of working on the extension of his deportation program.

Lincoln believed that Blacks had the Right to liberty because that was a NATURAL, Divinely-ordained, innate unalienable Right possessed by all human beings - this is why he was an abolitionist. However, he also believed than on average the Blacks were "socially and politically" inferior to White Americans ,and he was correct because we now know for a concrete, incontrovertible, scientific fact that the average White American's IQ is 15 points higher than the average Black American's IQ (in Lincoln's time the disparity would have even greater) Therefore Lincoln argued that they were not entitled to equal Civil Rights. Civil right were entitlements granted by man-made( positive) Law/s - NOT by Divine Law (like Natural Rights) That is why Lincoln said that he did not agree with Blacks having the right to vote, to be jurors, to be jurists, to inter-marry with whites and so on. These were Civil Rights given by (positive) law to whites because they had historically demonstrated that generally speaking they possessed sufficient intelligence/wisdom to handle the duties that they entailed responsibly. Blacks, Lincoln rightly argued did not.

I seriously doubt Lincoln argued that, and he certainly didn't argue against Civil Rights because of today's IQ tests, which, btw, measure how much a person knows, not how much they CAN know. It measure's their ability to solve problems, which most certainly improves with expensive education not available to all.

Been watching Grant on History Channel and it is so cathartic to watch Confederates get their asses kicked.

It is worth noting why southern rebels should be considered traitors.

There is no question that only a minority of the southern population supported seccession. And the majority which didn't were taken on a ride of death and destruction by the minority that supported seccession.

For one thing, not all whites supported secession. Not every white in the South was economically invested in slavery.

More importantly, you could probably count on one hand the number of southern blacks who signed up for the Confereracy's effort to create a permanent slave nation in perpetuity. Most of the deep south states had more black residents than white. And given a choice, they would undoubtedly rather see the Union prevail and crush the seccession.

So rather than hold the south collectively accountable for treason, it is actually the white rebels and their political and military commanders who took the rest of the south on their death ride

Hello Dachshynddawg,

That's a lie, Snoopy dog. American Colleges: Liberal Arts, Humanities, anthropology, sociology, politics etc; faculties are thorughly infested, as we speak, with Postmodernist/neo-Marxist educators and curricula. The root precepts of postmoern philosophy and cultural Marxism are essentially the same socialist principles of the old "economic" class-struggle communist theory of Marx and Engel's .

The lessons it teaches are profoundly hostile to ... heterosexual marriage as the basis for the nuclear family

That's false. The truth is our colleges are becoming increasingly more accepting of gay marriage. And that has not been a problem.

Sadly, not the first time either. https://www.wcvb.com/article/shaw-54th-regiment-memorial-defaced/32733306#

A thousand men signed up just after President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, just think about that," said Liz Vizza, executive director of Friends of the Public Garden. "These are men who, if they were captured in the south, would be enslaved or murdered. But this cause was so important to them, they signed up to go fight for their freedom."

The memorial has been vandalized before – with paint in 2012, and the sword was broken off in 2015 and 2017.

It's still up in the air as to who actually vandalized the monument: https://www.truthorfiction.com/this-is-the-54th-regiment-memorial-defaced-this-week-claim/

You said I was stupid.

I responded that fair minded posters would not agree with you that I am stupid.

That is neither arrogant, nor an insult against you.

It is me defending myself in a measured and non-belligerent way

No, but then you did the same with me about an Antifa rant. How far do you want to derail on this? Do you really believe I'm one of those Antifa-ranters? If not, then why did you bring it up?

For those who are grieving over this, you can always visit a museum.

That's the point; even if it is in a museum...and there's no guarantee they will be...most people don't go to museums. They'd rather watch "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" with their significant others than go to a museum and learn about Lincoln's election and the politics of 1860.

The end result? "We, the People" become the people George Santayana warned us about. The nation's voters start repeating the mistakes of the past.

There's a difference between experience and wisdom. By erasing our past, the nation sets itself up to learn by experience, not wisdom.

What a jackass. The only history being taught by confederate statues is the history of racism in the early 1900's and schools are not indoctrinating anyone into communism.

Look, person. Those that forget history are doomed to repeat it.

The fuck they aren't. I just learned about the system they're using, it's called critical pedagogy.

Prove me wrong.
