Man Shot by Police in Kenosha Was Wanted for Sexual Assault "Fleeing felon rule"

If the cops had shot him after he floored it the blacks would still riot

Probably but then the shooting cop wouldn't be under investigation for murder. That's the real point here; when to shot, not that a suspect can't be shot under the fleeing felon rule.

I readily agree Michael Brown was a violent fleeing felon and it was a good shooting. As mentioned before, however, the number of rounds and the position of the person shot makes a difference. I can shoot an criminal 29 times with an AK, but I can't walk up and put the last one in his head. The first 29 are legal but the last one is murder. Anyone with a carry permit knows this.

Do you have a carry permit or are you not legal to have one?

Breitbart is like its executive chairman, Steve Bannon, who is full of shit.

Have you seen any reporting that says this man was a felon anywhere other than Breitbart?

Here is what's being reported by real news organization quoting what real state officials are saying.

Police in Wisconsin shoot Black man in back multiple times, sparking protests

A Black man was hospitalized in serious condition after police shot him several times in the back as he opened the door of a parked vehicle in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Graphic video of the shooting emerged on social media late Sunday, sparking angry protests that prompted the city to declare an emergency curfew.

Attorney Benjamin Crump, a prominent civil rights lawyer retained by Blake's family, told CBS News that Blake is now in stable condition. Crump said three of Blake's children — ages 3, 5 and 8 — were inside the SUV when their father was shot by police. The family was out celebrating one of the children's birthdays.

"These kids, these babies, are gonna have psychological issues for the rest of their entire life," Crump said.

In a tweet, Crump, who represents Floyd's family, says the man was leaving the scene after "breaking up a fight between two women."
Officers were called to respond to a domestic disturbance, police said, but it's unclear who called 911 or what happened before the video recording begins

THAT'S WHY POLICE WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE, NOT TO ARREST A SUPOSSED "FELON" As far as I can tell from the reporting, the police never questioned. not ID'd him

Wisconsin's Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes called what happened in Kenosha, familiar violence to far too many.

"The officer's deadly actions attempted to take a person's life in broad daylight and like many of you, the video is etched into my mind," Lt. Gov. Barnes said. "The irony is not lost on me that as Jacob Blake was actually trying to de-escalate a situation in his community but the responding officer didn't feel the need to do the same."

Black man shot multiple times after turning his back to police in Kenosha, Wisc.

Several witnesses told Kenosha News that Blake was trying to break up a fight between two women outside a home in the area, and that his children were in the SUV at the time. They say the officers used a stun gun on Blake, then pursued him to his car and shot him in the back.

There was an arrest warrant out on him from last June. Not exactly on the top ten wanted list even in Kenosha, WI. The scant record indicates 3rd degree sexual assault but not violence. More like banging an adult woman who was passed out. No doubt the details will be forthcoming as more information is released.

"Under U.S. law the fleeing felon rule was limited in 1985 to non-lethal force in most cases by Tennessee v. Garner, 471 U.S. 1. The justices held that deadly force "may not be used unless necessary to prevent the escape and the officer has probable cause to believe that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious bodily harm to the officer or others."

Thanks .. He was unarmed. When did they interview him to find that out that he was a "felon?" .. and had they interviewed him in the house, wouldn't they have immediately put him in cuffs?

Have you seen any reporting that this man was a convicted felon other than rightwing news?

What if he sped off to save Trump's life from BLM and Antifa Marxists? What if he was really a space alien sent to Earth to give us the cure for cancer?

I readily agree that Blake shouldn't have been allowed to drive off. Period. The disagreement is that the first cop appeared to be both too quick on the trigger and trigger happy. Notice that Blake's body slumped and the officer pumped three more rounds into his back while holding Blakes t-shirt the entire time.

This is a serious subject.

Your silliness does nothing to elevate the discussion.

I didn't see the guy slump and I don't see how you could have, because he was behind the vehicle's door which was blocking the view.

The guy could have had a gun in the car, spun around, shot the cop, his partner and a few bystanders.

And every thing I said about the possibilities which you saw fit to mock, were actual real possible factors thiose cops had to take into account. Unlike your Trump/alien/cancer cure nonsense.

But I guess I'm getting used to that weak level of debate out of you.

No shit which is why your "what if" fantasies are inappropriate as I pointed out.

His leg was under the door. Watch the position change from when the first three spaced shots were fired and then where it is when the last four shots were quickly fired.

Regardless, the truth will be revealed in the Wisconsin state investigation and, if necessary, the trial of the shooting officer. Forensics will reveal how the body was positioned for each of the seven shots fired point blank into Blake's back.

Jacob Blake, the 29-year-old black man shot by police in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Sunday, was wanted on charges of sexual assault, among others, according to the Associated Press.

The AP reported Monday:

Online court records indicate Kenosha County prosecutors charged Blake on July 6 with third-degree sexual assault, trespassing and disorderly conduct in connection with domestic abuse.

No we know why the POS wouldn't comply with police, if there was a gun in his car u can bet if he got his hands on it he would have used it

Gun History and wanted for third-degree sexual assault RAPE (felony)

Fleeing felon rule

At common law, the fleeing felon rule permits the use of force, including deadly force, against an individual who is suspected of a felony and is in clear flight.[1]

Here is the actual decision from SCOTUS, liar.

“Where the officer has probable cause to believe that the suspect poses a threat of serious physical harm, either to the officer or to others, it is not constitutionally unreasonable to prevent escape by using deadly force.”

So, you lied again, punk.

They didn't go to the house looking for him. nor to arrest him.

When did they discover he had a warrant?

He was unarmed.

Where was the threat that required the use of deadly force?

They didn't go to the house looking for him. nor to arrest him.

When did they discover he had a warrant?

Correct. My understanding is that they went there on a domestic call and Blake was there trying to break it up.

My guess is they identified everyone present and Blake's name popped.

So now we learned the Cops hit him with a Stun Gun and didn't even phase him, show he was way more MAN than the COP who had a GUN POINTED at him the entire time. They where PISSED that their little Stun Gun didn't do shit.

So are we saying a Man with his little Kids in the Car was going to search around the Car for a Gun?

Really ... so where's the Gun?

Actually, you might be into something here....

The cops could have let the big, tough black man get into a car with three black children inside, speed off doing 100 mph then wrap the vehicle around a pole or slam into a concrete piling, killing himself and the kds.

That way you and the protesters wouldn't have an issue to pretend to care about plus, there would be one less thug and three fewer future BLM protesters/thugs in the world.

Win - win.

He also pulled a gun at a local bar in 2015. And was charged with felony resisting arrest carrying a concealed weapon, carrying a firearm while intoxicated, endangering safety-use of a dangerous weapon.

And a open warrant for rape...Other than that he was a saint

Did he serve his time or were the charges dropped?

I see you're too thick-headed to understand that the possibilities I pointed out were REAL, not like your childish bullshit.

And speaking of fantasies.... no, you could not not determine whether or not he slumped by the position of his leg underneath the door in a blurry video :palm:

Actually volsrock is correct. The police had this guy under arrest. They were obviously going to cuff him up and take him away. He decided to flee. They shot him because the charges against him made him a violent and clear threat to the public. Escaping from arrest also means that so long as the officers have maintained clear contact with the felon, they can shoot that person without warning.
In this case, they tried repeatedly to verbally stop him even at gunpoint before it became clear he intended to flee the scene. So they shot the moron like they were trained to do-- center mass (in the chest), three round bursts, stop the action. The officer did exactly as he was trained to do in that situation. The idiot that got shot brought that totally and completely on himself.

Where does the charge against him make him violent?
