The persons Rittenhouse shot were all criminal felons with records...

Grosskreutz had a valid concealed carry permit. That is not grasping at straws. That is a definite legal document that states that Grosskreutz can carry a concealed weapon. It was 100% legal for him to do so.

Walt. You are still talking out your ass. Everything you say changes with the wind when someone shows you wrong. In other words you are a hurricane. Let adults speak here.

Cheong caught my eye first. Cheong writes click bait for right wingnuts, so I assume somehow they mistakenly switched his name as the writer, with the name of one of the victims. It is hard to tell. Then we move on to Grosskreutz. Grosskreutz had no felony convictions, and had a legal concealed carry permit. Gardner claims he has felony convictions, and no concealed carry permit.

Grosskreutz's self defense claim is much stronger than Rittenhouse's. Grosskreutz was legally carrying a gun that he legally owned. Rittenhouse was illegally carrying a gun he was "borrowing". Grosskreutz was a real student. Rittenhouse was expelled from school for violence.

I would not allow Grosskreutz to have a concealed carry permit, but the law definitely did.

Meh. Illegally carrying a gun is not the same as First Degree Murder. The Democrats keep fucking themselves in gun cases. They used a President to influence a local case then clearly overcharged him. Was it really such a surprise Zimmerman walked? All Democrats succeeded in doing was ruining his life. They could arguably be part of the blame for ruining Martin's life too due to heavily flawed domestic policies....something they keep doing today.

The points you made will certainly be brought up in court....and it will help the Democrats anti-gun carry crusade arguing Blue-on-Blue shootings are a danger to everyone around them. What happens when a good guy lawfully shoots a bad guy, but another good guy thinks the first good guy is the bad guy for shooting an unarmed person (which could mean he fell on his gun, knife, whatever)?

IIRC, Kyle fired 8 shots but the Fox link below only mentions 6, a couple of which were grazing wounds with the bullets soaring off into space in a housing area. The article doesn't mention if Grosskreutz was a 7th shot or it was one of the 3ish rounds sailing through the neighborhood. There should be no doubt the actual count and where each round ended up will be detailed in the trial.

Rosenbaum was shot multiple times, including “a gunshot wound to the right groin, which fractured his pelvis; a gunshot wound to the back, which perforated his right lung and liver; a gunshot wound to the left hand; a superficial gunshot wound to his lateral left thigh; and a graze gunshot wound to the right side of his forehead,” the complaint states.

Huber had a single gunshot wound to the chest, which perforated his heart, aorta, pulmonary artery and right lung.

Seems reasonable.

Then you agree it would have been righteous for an innocent person walking on a sidewalk to empty a magazine into Patricia McCloskey?

I am not trying to be cruel here Gardner, but you have not exactly been a fount of accurate information here.
I have given way more than anyone else in this thread. Yes, I made some mistakes in what was presented and admitted to those and tried to correct them. That's considerably more than anyone else seems to be doing.

I think he's referring to the OP, Chief. A flawed OP is like lying to one's friends and getting caught; once caught, never trusted again.

On the positive side, you've provided a lot of links. People who are truly interested should read them. If they don't, it's a good indicator they are not interested....or interesting. Fair winds, sailor.

I make mistakes, everyone does. I do this stuff on the fly with other things going on too. I made a mistake and owned up to it. It's when you make a mistake and won't admit it instead doubling down on it that's a problem.

I believe this used the same data as the Pew review.

Both appeared to use a mixture of studies. While old tech or military links can become outdated, social changes are very slow. Data 20-25 years old would still be a good indication of criminal social problems even if it went up or down a percent in some cases.

Your information is badly outdated. That is from the 1990's and early 2000's. Mine is current.

Look at the title of this thread, a title you wrote. "The persons Rittenhouse shot were all criminal felons with records." The fact is Grosskreutz was both shot by Rittenhouse, and had no felony record. Huber was charged with a felony, but not convicted.

In fact, only Rosenbaum had a felony conviction. 18 years ago, when he was 18 years old, he was convicted of having consensual sex with a 16. It just feels like there is more to that story. Other than that he has no criminal record.

Rittenhouse also feels like there is more to his story. Rittenhouse has been arrested three times, but has all the court records sealed. He dropped out of high school, after having been expelled. He has an order of protection against him by one student who claimed Rittenhouse threatened him with a gun. He is banned from the community college, and from the local pool.

Agreed on making mistakes and owning up to them.

On forums only words matter since money, success, age, gender, sexual proclivities, hobbies, career, you name it do not matter. Not a bit. Mentioning such things are a way to connect, but if someone tries to use them as an argumentative tool, then they are the bigger tool.

Typos happen and I'm more guilty than most, but a critical error in OP information is a different matter. What would be your reaction if someone posted a thread about Trump shooting a child on Fifth Avenue and then, several pages later is caught in a lie/mistake by a third person because Trump was only Tweeting about shooting a child being shot? Be honest.

Even so, there is a lot of bullshit flying on both sides in this case just like a minor shooting in Florida was inflated into a national crisis by another President.

Was it really such a surprise Zimmerman walked?

Zimmerman walked before they had even identified the body. Think about this, Zimmerman shot an unknown child, and the police let him go. When the child's parents show up, the police say try the morgue, but make no mention that a child just got shot the night before. What sort of police department closes a child homicide without even bothering to identify the child?

Then the police were forced to reopen the case, but they fought it every step of the way. The key piece of information that both the prosecutor and the defense said was it was late at night. It is a matter of record that it was 7:00 in the evening. It was a perfectly reasonable time for a teenager to walk to the store.

Witnesses were threatened by the police, and a killer with a roid rage problems got away. Zimmerman will kill again. You can count on that.

Then you agree it would have been righteous for an innocent person walking on a sidewalk to empty a magazine into Patricia McCloskey?

The synagogue next to their house put in a bee hive, against the wall that seemed to divide their property. It was accidentally on their property. The property line did not run along the wall as it would seem to. Rather than have the synagogue move the bee hive, the McCloskeys destroyed the bee hive. When the synagogue tried to talk to them, they pulled out guns.

These people are on edge. Anything could set them off.

Walt. You are still talking out your ass. Everything you say changes with the wind when someone shows you wrong. In other words you are a hurricane. Let adults speak here.

There are many issues that are subjective, but Grosskreutz having a valid concealed carry permit is not one of them. He is 100% legally allowed to carry a concealed handgun.

Or a skateboard. Or bushy eyebrows. Or a mascara wand. "But your honor, sir <copious sobbing> I was afraid for MY LIFE."

That's up for a court to decide.

When I was taking my Texas required class for concealed carry I recall two main stories (plus all the legal shit):
1) "If you shoot someone it will change your life". The way he said it meant it wouldn't be in a good way.
2) a story about a drill in a street combat class where students were sitting at a table when two simulated-robbers came in with guns drawn to rob the cashier. While some students were deciding whether or to draw their weapons and/or take cover for a possible shootout, a man and wife skipped out the kitchen door. Outside they took cover behind a car and dialed 911.

Both stories reminded me of martial arts lessons about avoiding fights when reasonably possible...which they usually are. Same with guns. Self-Defense is great, but walking around playing tough guy is just someone looking for a fight. In Kyle's case, he's just a kid and the supposed adults led him astray. Kyle's life will never be the same but I hope justice is done for all concerned including whoever armed Kyle that night.

Just because it was legal doesn't mean it was smart. If it's even the slightest bit illegal, they could have the book thrown at them not to mention fighting lawsuits for participating in wrongful death(s) or injury and damage to property.
