AGAIN WHY THE WTO IS A USELESS FECKLESS CONSTRUCT

It's amazing you get all this, but don't get the concept of a bilateral trade agreement that is much more enforceable with preset agreed upon standards :dunno:

Because you~trump is limiting options, when you go to war you give up nothing, you fight on multiple fronts, using allies etc..... Not go it alone.....

IMHO trump's go it alone had some serious short falls & I am sure I mentioned them once or 50 times..........

Though Tai may favor multilateral enforcement mechanisms more than Lighthizer, her leadership as USTR wouldn’t necessarily signal a change to the tougher stance toward China. She has said that China should be addressed forcefully and strategically.

“They both also have a long history of dealing with China’s unfair practices, the most pressing trade issue of our time,” according to former top White House trade negotiator Clete Willems. “Where Katherine’s approach is most likely to differ is on how she uses the WTO system and alliances to pressure China to change behavior.”

From 2007 to 2014, Tai successfully litigated Washington’s disputes against Beijing at the WTO, the global trade organization based in Geneva, Switzerland. :palm:

What does that mean to you? Does that include back it up, up to & including the use of force?

Lol, Walmart was the first biggest outsourcer to China.

Still banished from NYC.

You Greedy Hicks & your Capitalism is a major issue.

I remember when walmart came to my area, they had made in USA tags on their merchandise, then they got caught.

Biden is a corrupt corporatist.. will sell us out by stupidity if nothing else.
He's putting in nothing but a bunch of corporatists as well

Really?

"Corrupt corporatist"?
Trump cabinet, just his cabinet, not even the people he appointed.

What does that mean to you? Does that include back it up, up to & including the use of force?
ROFL? what? no it means she will go the same route -maybe trying to bring in Australia to confront China.'

But the WTO is a Paper Tiger, winning a grievance appeal means nothing. China ignores it
....Spinning her Wheels...again

China is currently giving Australia instructions.

no. Australia is the only state I can think of that would join the USA in "confronting" China (trade)
~~
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison called China's rumored move to not approve Australian coal imports a "lose-lose" situation on Tuesday and said it would be a breach of World Trade Organization (WTO) rules. The prime minister's comments came in response to a report by the Chinese state-owned Global Times newspaper that the country's National Development and Reform Commission had given the go-ahead for coal imports without restriction, with the exception of coal from Australia. Relations between China and Australia have deteriorated in recent months, especially from the fallout of Australia's call for an independent inquiry into the initial outbreak of coronavirus in China. The strain between the two countries has struck Australian exports, including its most lucrative coal and iron ore exports.

Australia is already a Chinese colony.

China engaging in economic warfare.......

That is the wave of the future, including ours....

It will have to be opposed or capitulate, time is on their side..

the point was looking to partner with the EU isn't going to happen/

The best we'll get is Australia (still doubtful) -and because trade is tricky business -
each country has different priorities-Biden's "idea" of a "coalition" against China is fantasy land

so we are back to where Trump started. a bilateral -which Biden opposes

if you want to confront China -you have to use our leverage as a bigger economy.
We've already seen an organization like the WTO is worse then useless -giving the appearance of "free trade"
but never performing for such
Biden seems to get this -although his idea of a co-lateral isn't feasible

You keep criticizing a bilateral but really dont offer anything else
