60% of Americans did not go to college.

Decades ago, when I first went to college, everyone got a Pell Grant, which could be several thousand dollars. Now, those grants are not so generous.

And states cut funding to their state universities.

Right wingers like blaming students for taking out loans, but they are force to when other funding dried up.

Right, Boomers got the most hand outs.

No, that would be the previous generation. WWII vets.

Eh, Boomers had welfare supplemental income, Pell grants & Medicaid, Medicare & Social Security.

All were greatest in power under Boomers.

Now Boomers seek to destroy the benefits they had for future generations.

While crying about Socialist youngsters.

Which isn't even true for White youngsters.

Boomers were a trashy selfish generation.

College was much cheaper back then, even corrected for inflation. You could have a part-time job and pay your way through. It was 16 bucks a credit hour when I started. It was not finacially crippling. The difference now is the cost, they are not offering more.

THe great hope is the we can find enough minds that have not been hopelessly warped by the Failed Universities to save America.

I am not optimistic.

When did that really start happening? They did a big admission-standard-lowering thing around when I was junior.

All classes were still taught by the Socratic method, though.

Understandable little wannabe elitists like you can't accept the fact that a college degree doesn't make one smarter or better than the average nondegree holder. In a word you're a loser.

Welders make $60K+ a year while people with L.A. Bachelor degrees are servers and baristas at Starbucks.

Right, and right when Boomers went onto private college boards the costs skyrocketed.

My Irish family left Yonkers because their once White neighborhood became Black.

Crime began to spiral out of control.

My Irish great uncle was mugged several times & they had their car stolen & heard gun shots.
