Religion Is A Sickness

An 8-year-old student was kicked out of a Christian elementary school, after she told another female student she had a crush on her, the mother says.

The incident occurred last week, when Chloe Shelton, a second grader at Rejoice Christian School in Owasso, Oklahoma, told another female student she had a crush on her, mother Delanie Shelton told CNN.
Chloe was immediately removed from the playground and spent the next few hours in the principal's office, missing class time as a result, Shelton said.
"Before I was even called, the vice principal told Chloe that the Bible says that women can only have children with a man," Shelton told CNN. "(The vice principal) asked me how I feel about girls liking girls and I told her that I see no issue with it."

'Sexual immorality' is grounds for dismissal, handbook states
The school's handbook states that "any form of sexual immorality" goes against its beliefs, including "professing to be homosexual/bisexual."
Students who do not "conform to the standards and ideals of work and life" at the school forfeit the "privilege" of attendance, the handbook states.

A 8-year-old girl? My goodness. Where's the innocence?

The puses of religions are erupting everywhere, even at kindergarten schools. The stench is spreading and it ain't good.

Rejoice Christian School. :rofl2:

A bunch of fake religious followers is erupting is the problem. 8 year olds shouldn't be treated like adults. The guise of what is sinful was never meant to be a scale of judgement like it's been turned into.

They would be hard pressed to explain how liking someone is a sexual immorality. :rofl2:

Religious wackadoodles. I'm surprised they don't make their female students wear Little House on the Prairie dresses and have the boys dress like Huckleberry Finn. Their choice.

Should the Democrats mandate taking all kids from their parents and raisinging them in a proper Democratic Socialist environment? ;)

Regarding religion, the only requirements at Notre Dame in the 70s were two semesters of theology. But the theology courses offered were quite broad in nature and content.
Indeed, that was my point. One can get an excellent secular education at schools founded and administered by Christians. The Obama's sent their daughters to Sidwell Friends, a private Quaker school. I have friends who went to Catholic high schools and universities. Even the Baptists have one decent school - Baylor University.

I believe when it comes to Christians schools, it is best to judge them on a case by case basis. Although as a general rule, I would be dubious of schools affiliated with Protestant fundamentalist traditions.

For people freedom of speech can be very costly.

It can get you banned from a Christian school,or from Twitter or banned from the entire Internet like Parler.

I have seen & heard a lot of things said on the internet.......... LOTS

You really gotta work to get banned most places, including here.......... If you get your ass kicked off "the internet" it must be a wee bit, or a whole lot more than the mundane bs we have witnessed since algore invented the internet

Not that I'm aware of but a similar case was dropped.

A Manhattan judge ruled Wednesday that kicking a Trump supporter out of a bar does not violate the law — because the law does not protect against political discrimination.

Greg Piatek of Philadelphia claims he was refused service and eventually removed from a New York City bar in January 2017 for wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat, in a lawsuit against the establishment.

“Anyone who supports Trump – or believes in what you believe – is not welcome here! And you need to leave right now because we won’t serve you!” Piatek claims the staff of The Happiest Hour told him.

Piatek claimed the incident “offended his sense of being an American,” The New York Post reported.

The lawyer representing The Happiest Hour, Elizabeth Conway, argued that he was not discriminated against because only religious, not political, beliefs are protected under state and city discrimination law.

“Supporting Trump is not a religion,” Conway argued.

Piatek’s attorney, Paul Liggieri, responded in court, “The purpose of the hat is that he wore it because he was visiting the 9/11 Memorial.”

“He was paying spiritual tribute to the victims of 9/11. The Make America Great Again hat was part of his spiritual belief,” Liggieri claimed. "Rather than remove his hat, instead he held true to his spiritual belief and was forced from the bar,” Liggieri told Justice David Cohen, the Post reported.

The judge pressed Liggieri on the spiritual nature of his client's belief, saying the bar staff would not be aware of Piatek’s specific religious philosophies.

“How many members are in this spiritual program that your client is engaged in?” the judge asked.

“Your honor, we don’t allege the amount of individuals,” Liggieri said.

“So, it’s a creed of one?” the judge asked.

“Yes, your honor,” Liggieri replied, the Post reported.

The judge eventually made a ruling on the matter, saying the incident amounted to nothing more than a “petty slight,” the Post said.

“Plaintiff does not state any faith-based principle to which the hat relates,” Judge Cohen said. “Here the claim that plaintiff was not served and eventually escorted out of the bar because of his perceived support for President Trump is not outrageous conduct

no wonder he lost
The Make America Great Again hat was part of his spiritual belief,” Liggieri claimed

Every religion is wrong. Join the human species.

I once watched an internet video ( I now wish I had never seen it) of a captive American journalist being ceremonially beheaded before an assemply of ranking Muslim Clerics and other Islamic officials by an ISIS militiaman. This video showed - in horrific detail - the ISIS executioner slowly cutting the journalist's head of with common hand-knife. You could hear the gaspings of the journalist as the ISIS butcher cut clumsily through the American's trachea. When this ISIS militiaman had finally hacked completely through his victim's neck, he lofted the severed head by the hair in triumph before the Muslim grandees who were seated behind him. The video camera then quickly panned down to the journalist's headless body, which was still kneeling on the floor with the torso upright. From the two carotid ateries on the left and right side of the severed neck, the viewer saw three or four spouts of blood shoot up into the air, expelled by the final beats of the American's dying heart.

So...

I've just got one question for you. The question is, do you think that the act I have just described above was WRONG ? Before you answer, I must remind you that the word "WRONG" is a moral term. A behaviour or an action that is "WRONG", is one that OUGHT not be (or have been) performed. "OUGHT NOT" means "MUST" NOT. It means MUST neverunder any circumstances, at any time, be carried out.

So, in your opinion was the beheading I described above, WRONG ?

Ask the journalist.

There is an element of torture in teaching kids about religion when they are too young to resist indoctrination. They are taught and terrified when they are small. The church and parents do it over and over. Almost all religions use the same technique, illustrating why people stay in the same religion, generation after generation.
If you believe your religion is correct, you should be able to convince your kids when they are older and can think of arguments. Perhaps saying nothing and letting them make their own decisions when they are adults would be the right thing to do.

Notice that the Fundies have no problem with this?

Same for teaching them socialism. ;)

Could not agree more. It's a form of child abuse.
