Religion Is A Sickness

Hello CASPER,

Just wanted to say before I take a short break,
You guys are doing great turning this Forum back into one where actual discussion is taking place again. You have a ways to go but, Well Done, that goes for both sides that are still living in the Real World.
Be Safe,
Casper

Thanks. And thank you for being a part of it. Actual conversation is so refreshing, isn't it?

Hello Dutch Uncle,

Used as in "testing"? Experimentation?

What are the results?

No. They are done testing as far as the hockey team goes. It's in full use. They are highly confident about it.

From what I heard the accuracy is quite high. Upper 90's.

I guess maybe the reason this has not be seized upon and put into mass scale use is lack of high caliber dog trainers and suitable canine candidates?

Correction. My bad. Miami Heat is a Basketball Team, not hockey.

This had been known about for a long time:

'It's a Game for Them.' Scientists Around the World Are Teaching Dogs to Sniff Out COVID-19

"By Alejandro de la Garza
October 9, 2020 12:11 PM EDT Time Magazine:

“We’re not just doing the proof of concept work, we’re also working out actively how to deploy this and scale it up as well, because we want to hit the ground running once we’ve gotten our results,” says James Logan, the head of LSHTM’s Department of Disease Control and the project lead on the U.K. study.

Other studies have produced promising, albeit early, results. In June, a team in France using a small number of samples collected from human patients who had been tested for COVID-19 in PCR tests (the current gold standard for testing) found a high degree of evidence that dogs could detect COVID-19 infections through differences in the smell of human subjects’ armpit sweat. (Also concluded: dogs don’t particularly mind sniffing people’s armpits.) In Germany, researchers ran a small pilot study, published in July, with trained coronavirus-sniffing dogs—corona-schnüffelnder hunde—and showed that the dogs were able to distinguish between coronavirus-positive samples and a control group with an average sensitivity (the rate of detecting true positives) of 83% and a specificity (true negative rate) of 96% after only one week of training. That’s not quite as accurate as COVID-19 rapid antigen tests, which have a sensitivity ranging from 84% to nearly 98% and specificities of 100%. But antigen tests require often uncomfortable nasal swabs, and take about 15 minutes to return results. Dogs, by contrast, may be able to tell if a person is infected in seconds, no swab needed."

An 8-year-old student was kicked out of a Christian elementary school, after she told another female student she had a crush on her, the mother says.

The incident occurred last week, when Chloe Shelton, a second grader at Rejoice Christian School in Owasso, Oklahoma, told another female student she had a crush on her, mother Delanie Shelton told CNN.
Chloe was immediately removed from the playground and spent the next few hours in the principal's office, missing class time as a result, Shelton said.
"Before I was even called, the vice principal told Chloe that the Bible says that women can only have children with a man," Shelton told CNN. "(The vice principal) asked me how I feel about girls liking girls and I told her that I see no issue with it."

'Sexual immorality' is grounds for dismissal, handbook states
The school's handbook states that "any form of sexual immorality" goes against its beliefs, including "professing to be homosexual/bisexual."
Students who do not "conform to the standards and ideals of work and life" at the school forfeit the "privilege" of attendance, the handbook states.

A 8-year-old girl? My goodness. Where's the innocence?

The puses of religions are erupting everywhere, even at kindergarten schools. The stench is spreading and it ain't good.

Rejoice Christian School. :rofl2:

A private school can reject just about anyone it wants, so I doubt that the expulsion was improper, but was it right? What sort of message is this school sending to eight-year-old children about understanding and expressing themselves? It is, after all, possible for homosexual couples to raise children. Furthermore, the girl's eight years old. When did she ever express a desire to have children? If the girl's gay, what does it have to do with anyone else? Fake religious people are so grotesque.

Leftists only support private rights when it suites their agenda.

Bakers gotta bake for Gay marriage.
Children need to be accepted into Christian School.

But, then crickets over censorship of Conservatives.

No conservatives were censored, cunt.

In my experience, the people selling it are always "highly confident about it". :)

A lack of trained dogs, effectiveness and "bang for the buck" are all common problems with using animals.

Animals have great working uses. The Navy uses dolphins. The Germans trained dogs to run under enemy tanks with a satchel charge on their backs. BF Skinner experimented with Pigeon-homing bombs to sink enemy ships in WWII.

Pigeon-bombs?

Well, I'm sure it was a real blast for the pigeon, but how much explosive could a pigeon really carry? Enough to sink a ship? Gotta hope it flies to the intended ship...

Reminds me of the coconut-carrying swallows in Monty Python.

Well most of us survived it.......

I think it can be helpful for some youngUN's specifically males needing some perspective...

Like those guys mouthing off in that class......... While we seen them hit that wall, those others in the classroom heard his ass thump against it:laugh::laugh:

Gave them all something to think about.

Practiced it with my son up until about age 6. :clink:

The pigeon wasn't the bomb carrier, it was the guidance system. Eventually R/C became predominant because of interface problems. The pigeons would peck at the target on a screen (bomb sight) but linking that to bomb flight controls proved to be problematic. With Remote Control, the human is the bomb guidance system.

Sounds like something little known American hero Alfred Lee Loomis might have worked on.

The problem with "religion", especially organized religion, is their sets of rules refuse to change, regardless of what their favorite scriptures say.

But I do get what you are saying. It's the people. Dawkins talked about memes.

Disagreed. There are a lot of religions in the world. Depending on accounting, there are about 2000 variations of Christianity. Witold and Opie could start a Christian religion today with the interpretation that only men could marry and spontaneous buttfucking was sacred. That's them. Not you, not me, not any of the other Christian religions. Just them. I'm good with it as long as everything is consensual.

If I was younger...and single, I'd offer you the chance to be my Second Holy One in the Church of the Holy Virgin...18 years or older, bringing joy to women across the USA....all tax deductible.

I think you and I could bring happiness to all those lonely wives left by their nutjob husbands to fight some imaginary civil war led by an orangutan.

Are incels welcome? I was thinking of that poor guy, Stone.

No. There'd a strict rule requiring only virginal women in the congregation. Only the top Church leadership could be male. If someone doesn't like that, fuck them. Let them start their own church.
