if i had kids and they wernt going into STEM, id advise them to skip college and get a trade

Lots of good paying jobs around here. Hershey's is running TV ads with starting wages over $20 an hr. and maintenance jobs starting at almost $30 an hr. + benefits on day one.
You can get a truck driving job almost anywhere there's a trucking co. Lots of small businesses hiring here. Plumbers, HVAC, etc. are making $75+ an hr. Independent auto mechanics
charge $80+ an hr.

Plenty of good jobs that pay well. Working for a moving company and for a contractor, for example. Tips are good.

A lot of kids today seem to think skilled trades is beneath them. Don't know why, there's a lot of money there.

They think if they get a college degree, they should start at $100 an hr. and can play on their cell phones all day. A lot of the problem is "Human Resources," they go by some silly written requirements for jobs they know nothing about and think only "college educated" applicants can do them.

I worked at a place for 12 years in my 20's and early 30's. I expected to "climb the ladder," so after I learned a job, I would bid on something else to learn as much as I could. I was advancing rather well. The company closed and moved South. I went for an interview for a supervisor's job at a similar company. In my brief tour of the company, I saw 3 things the company I used to work for did much cheaper than this place did. The "Human Resources Manager" (a woman, nothing against women here) offered me a job as an assembly worker because I did it before. I told her I learned that job over 10 years ago and moved on to learn other aspects of my previous company's operations. She said she wanted someone with a college degree for the supervisor's position and was considering someone from Ohio (?). I told her in my brief tour I saw 3 things that would save this plant over $80,000 a year. Her eyes opened a bit and she asked me what they were. I told her to ask her "college grad from Ohio" what they were as he should know, thanked her for wasting my time and walked out. Fuck her...

There is a lot of warfare between religions, so I would say that it is also a problem for people who love their religion, but have another religion that hates them.

true enough........here in the US, the religion that hates the Christian religion is the lib'rul fuckwit religion.........

Some of that will be drying up as the price of fuel..and thus everything else..rises.

AKA when Biden's policies start kicking in.

It was a definitely a 1960s tech solution to child disciplinary problems.

Paddles in schools looked like cricket bats even though, at 12, I thought crickets were bugs.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

Is this being utilized on public national and international transport? If so, I'm very impressed with dog senses much less the speed of deploying the dogs.

No. That's the frustrating/baffling thing. Why not? I first heard of it over a month ago being done in Europe. Then I heard nothing for a while until I cam across a story that the Miami Heat are using it to screen fans and allow fans into a hockey game. (Of all places.) I have to wonder why our government has not jumped on this big time and made some kind of directive to ramp it up and apply in in logical places such as transportation...

Used as in "testing"? Experimentation?

What are the results?

Hello Bill,

I don't think religion is the prob either, certainly not most-THE PROBLEM IS PPL...... Take them out of the equation they are great.. :)

Ppl often blame "religion" for various things, eventhough that religion may not advocate or even condone the actions of it's followers..

I think that will be the end result of religion - to take people out of the equation.
