Live Feed: Trump's Defensive Argument

Which means the Republican Party is dead

They apparently don't know it yet, but they are indeed dead. Zombies with no minds wandering the halls of Congress. That's an apt visual for Republican members of Congress.

Ah, yes, let us not forget that Bill Clinton was impeached 22 years ago. These people should be embarrassed.

They can’t show tape of Democratic voters attacking the capital to KILL people and an to smear their own shit all over the building the founders built

Dont they know what the crime was?

I love the theatrics in his dismissive page turns. This is definitely a Trump guy. He may be worse than Rudy.

And.... when he says it isn't about political whataboutism, you know its about political whataboutism. He's showing the same video again. Amazing.

Now to the First Amendment. OK, at least they finally got to the reason they're standing in that room. Only took something more than an hour.

Conspicuously absent is any defense of Trumps actions during the day, which IMHO are by far the most damaging evidence.

I don't think they're going to directly address Trump's actions at all. Not a tweet. Not a speech. What a colossal waste of time and a global embarrassment.

This guy keeps repeating himself over and over again. He reminds me of the kid who needs to turn in a five page paper so he quadruple spaced.

He's dwelling on the First Amendment. Doesn't that seem like a very stupid mistake? He's not arguing that Trump didn't incite violence. He's arguing that Trump has a First Amendment right to incite violence. That is false on its face. He's talking to a roomful of lawyers for gawd's sake.
