In Germany, the government subsidizes people heavily to put in solar arrays on their land. For farmers this has been a serious cash cow. They get subsidized to put the system in, then the government guarantees that they will buy the solar at market prices even if the cost of solar falls below a certain rate. For a farmer, its cheaper and a better return on investment than farming, so they do it. The problem is, the whole way this is set up benefits just the farmer who does it. Taxpayers are paying the subsidizes which are generous in effect driving the price of electricity up indirectly.

In America, there is no form of energy production that is not subsidized by the govt.

No, not my opinion. I already posted several examples of this in Germany, the exact same thing. Farmers building solar arrays subsidized by the government for essentially forever and giving up farming.

Because there has been a concerted effort by Big Ag to have fewer/larger dairy farms for decades now. Gone are family farms. Overseas, farmers face the same pressures. Rising grain prices, and falling milk prices. Usually due to cheap imported American dairy products.
 
I am just going to say this OUT LOUD and with all sincerity...

Never leave your future up to Republicans. If we would have done that over the last 40 years, we would all still be dialing into the internet @ 300 baud on Radio SHack Tr-80s, TV would still be in black & white and our TV sets would still have round screens, women and minorities would still not be allowed to vote, most Americans would be living in Shanty Towns, and we would have an extra 200 million unwanted children in Huge Orphanages across the country, no one would be allowed in College except the children from rich parents, our favorite snack would be Soylent Green, and everyone would be open carrying their very own AR 15's strapped over their shoulders.

Incorrect. All fossil fuel plants are subsidized. There has never been a nuke plant built in this nation that wasn't funded by the govt., save for a small experimental plant out West.

All energy production is subsidized in this nation. Either directly, or indirectly
