#UNCLETIM trends for 11 hours - Will there be MASS account suspensions of White Libs?

There is no context where a person, who I assume in your case is not black, suggests a black person has an affinity for watermelon is not racist.

In context, slurs are not only intentional but also finely focused. That's personal animosity, not racism.

Thanks. It's really meaningful to have access to your opinion.
Maybe I'll someday see the error of my ways.
But for right now, I think your head's up your ass.

Suggesting black people should go eat watermelon, or calling them uncle tom, is racist, that's a fact. don't believe me, go ask a black guy.

Idiot. You obviously know nothing.
It's black people who call the unappreciated backstabbers among them "Uncles Tom."
I'm just adding a supportive voice to those of my African American brothers and sisters.

so far, I've seen here you and other white people call him an uncle tom. I also saw you suggest he eats watermelon, a racist canard.

Let's keep this going.
We're obviously got the forum riveted on this discussion.
Entertaining the masses is essential.

I disagree here. Either we tolerate racism or we speak out against it, no matter which side is engaging in it. "Uncle Tim" is a horribly racist hashtag. It's offensive and twitter should hold those accounts responsible and to the same standard as a rw'er making racist comments or hashtags.

The hashtag probably was created by a troll.

Don't worry. Only one poster knows who my post is for. ;)

I do not think that would matter, it was picked up and used, took them 11 hrs to address it. That seems like a long time to let a racist hashtag grow.

Well I don't know much about it to know the full story. It's just weird to be triggered by a hashtag.

There have been many offensive hashtags created by trolls.
