Trump Org, CFO indicted by New York grand jury: reports

Which Senators are up for reelection or leaving empty seats?

Not going by any overall math, but the odds seem to favor the Republicans will gain a seat in the Senate.

The 10 Senate seats most likely to flip in 2022
Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey, a Republican, is not running for reelection, which means it's up to the GOP to hold this seat without him. Biden carried the state by about 1 point last fall, making it a natural place for Democrats to try to flip a seat. Their next best chance to is in Wisconsin, another state Biden won that's currently held by a Republican, Sen. Ron Johnson, who may or may not be running for reelection.

Republicans' best opportunities to flip seats are in Georgia and Arizona -- two traditionally red states that Biden carried last year where recently elected Democratic senators, Raphael Warnock and Mark Kelly, are now running for full six-year terms
Actually, Republicans have more seats to defend, but the two mentioned above are barely Democrat seats.

Which is why every Red state is denying Democrats the right to vote, or enabling a partisan legislature to overturn any election results that they don't like.

The Republicans are in trouble and they are only causing themselves more trouble in the direction they are heading.

Maybe not if he flips on Trump. :)
He will not flip on trump. He'd lose his job/home. He'll do a few months and be ready for work when he gets out. trump is raising enough money from the mentally challenged to pay the back taxes and penalties.

They are causing themselves to regain power.

What's the over/under on how long it takes McTurtle to do away with the filibuster?

I don't know. It depends on the charges. He doesn't want to spend five days in jail much less 5-10, if not longer.

TrumpCo may have to downsize if they are in gross violation of tax laws.

trumpco might have issues in the future, but Weisselberg will do the time before he upends his cushy lifestyle. I'm guessing they'll attempt to plea for no jail time, which would be common.

Leona Helmsley die a mere few months after being sentenced to 18 months.

They said this case resembles hers in many ways. I’d roll on Trump to save my kids. Weaselberg may not care about Trump, but he may care about them.

As who plans?

The Republicans. Sure, they might pick up and lose a few seats in 2022 and 2024, but the longer the Insurrection investigation and trials are around, the more reminders there will be about how fucked up the Republican Party has become and their support for Trump.

That said, as the past two presidential elections have continued to prove, most people vote for the "R" or the "D", not the suit. In the end, the denials and BS coming from the RNC will only hurt them.

Even if they manage to tip the Senate, where all the RWNJs will be screaming "Victory!", that accomplishment would have to be balanced against them taking a commanding lead of the Senate had they been more honest, forthright and dutiful.

In the end, it'll come down to self-preservation. Weisselberg will do what's best for him..or what he thinks is best for him.

poor libtards, going to be handed another big nothing burger

Hello Althea,

First we need a minimum of 50 Democrat senators.

We aren't there yet

That won't do it!

They have to be anti-corruption Senators.

Corruption is legal in America.

They'd be bought out.

The only way we'd currently get 50 or 60 or any controlling number, would be with the support of big money.

And that won't work for us. Big money wants to keep us divided so they can keep ripping us off.

It has to be done on votes of well informed people from both sides.

We have to spread the word to build a ground-up campaign in as many cities and counties as possible.

We need a groundswell of activism to elect anti-corruption people to local city and county councils.

We need to pass local anti-corruption Acts all over the country. As many as possible, and then more.

Then we send anti-corruption Act people to State level.

Once we have enough there, we pass the Anti-Corruption Act at the State level and we Anti-Corruption Act proponents to DC.

Finally, we pass a national Anti Corruption Act.

And then we have no more big money influence of Congress.

And we can pass laws that make sense for the people.

Such as a new voting rights act.

Yes, this is a monumental task which would take years, but that is the only way major good changes happen in this country, from the ground up. If we wait for the power players to drop it down to us it will never happen.

Big money will keep America as divided as possible. When one side begins to gain too much power, Big Money will give the other side a boost, thus ensuring American remains bitterly divided and firmly in the grasp of big money.

We need a growing groundswell of well informed people to engage a long-term plan to regain control of elections by We The People.

We need to change the laws so that Congress is no longer corrupt, and legislators focus on doing what we want them to do as representatives of the people and the States, not big money.

Money should be for buying things, not people.

The kids are only on the hook for back taxes. trump could pay them. Weisselberg would lose his trump Tower living arrangements as well as his hefty salary. He'll sit in a Club Med cell for a few months.

With 50 seats, they end the filibuster on day one. Although, they would need a Republican POTUS to be able to do real damage. If they had one, they would do it without a second thought. After railing against the same thing for years.

Sure, big money will seek to push for their way, but people still have minds....unless you believe half are completely stupid. LOL

The solution, IMO, remains education. Teaching people how to think so that they may make wise and informed choices.

Doing so strengthens the citizenry through the common cause of common sense. Nowadays it seems too many people are confused and suffering from information overload. Better abilities to filter the bullshit would beneficial to voters.
