BLM chapter calls American flag 'symbol of hatred'

You must be related to that faggot DU. Just another JPP cunt trying to look mature.

Do you mean Dutch Uncle? I've had him on block since the second or third day after I joined JPP. But he's not as brain dead and utterly worthless as you are.

I don't think we are throwing up our hands. We spend billions on education and spending per pupil has increased more than inflation even in districts that have not increased in students.

Why do you keep saying this when it is completely untrue!?

Do you think every student in this country gets the same amount spent on them, or is your average being skewed by wealthier school districts?

Unfortunately, while students and faculty have remained stable in many large districts administrators have increased as have employees associated with federal educational programs. I think any financial need could be met by shifting funds around. One news program showed an expensive administration building being built while some of the schools had leaking ceilings.

The federal government has limitations becoming involved since education is a function reserved to the states. Federal funding programs are often not productive and require the schools to follow costly regulations. Often businesses selling school products (computers, etc.) are the ones pushing for federal spending.

Agreed not all American students are equally educated nor do they have access to equal educational opportunities. This is an economic class problem. While I'm not a fan of the Feds taking over schools from states, I fully support there be agreement between states on some basic standards of education, the Feds supplying better tools for education and for government, at every level, seek to maximize the education of K-12 Americans.

It's not about "more money". It's about equal access to a quality education for all American kids so they can become more productive citizens and soldiers.

Notice the difference in spending and the results among the states:

https://educationdata.org/public-education-spending-statistics

Federal, state, and local governments spend $720.9 billion, or $14,840 per pupil, to fund K-12 public education.

The federal government provides 7.7% of funding for public education; state and local governments provide 46.7% and 45.6% of public education funds, respectively.

https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/public-school-rankings-by-state
There are about 51 million public school students in the United States. While far from perfect, public schools play a vital role in their respective communities. Public schools improve their communities and the welfare of children. Public schools welcome all children, no matter their income level, disability, or previous academic performance. Many schools provide school meals, which helps children from food-insecure families get nutritious food every day. The better the public school, the more likely students will achieve higher educational attainment.
