Yeah, again admirable, but unrealistic.Yes, you want to save a no-skill job and I want to create a million high tech jobs. Progress!

It's an excellent point. No one is wearing masks, but half the country remains unvaccinated. It isn't that hard to figure out that someone stupid enough to pass on getting vaccinated is also dishonest enough to pretend they are. The Trump cult is now officially a death cult. They are killing each other, but unfortunately kids and breakthoughs are collateral damage for their stupidity. I'm going back to masking and avoiding crowds. I shouldn't have to, but the unselfish assholes are putting us right back in the soup. If you are unvaccinated in Florida, you are at the highest risk you have ever been for Covid. Fuck the Trumptards.
Why? I have no problem. The problem with self-check is that you can only check out around 15 to 20 items.
I think Fox News should be pulled off the air because it is posing an overt danger to public health.
Why? I have no problem.
BTW, the new stations have about 5 feet of counter for all your goods.

Yeah, again admirable, but unrealistic.
Well, that’s the difference between us. I will to save a job.
Oh wow. My Walmart is different. If I bring too many items, I'd have to stack them up carefully like Jenga, watching it wobble back and forth.
We can save a whole bunch of them if we’d close the damned border but we probably differ there too.
Good luck.Sorry I pissed you off but the fact remains you're using the same logic as the Trumpers to "Make America Great Again" by returning to 1950s tech.
Better to focus on how to better educate our youth than in forcing private business to hire minimum wage workers for $35K/year.
Yet it's black and Hispanics that are the most likely to not be vaccinated. I wonder how many illegals are amongst the unvaccinated as well, any idea Kenny?
Agreed on the lazy and the stupid. I saw a few thousand of them attack the Capitol on 1/6. It was on the news...if you can believe it. LOLSorry, it’s a admirable thought, but you’re always going to have those people who don’t have any drive or the ability to do better in life. I’d rather they have a job than be on the streets.
Good luck.
Sorry, I’m not pissed off, I’ve just been involved in efforts to get better education and jobs for our youths for a long time, but Americans just aren’t interested. Republicans fight it with every vote they cast. The latest is to demonize teachers.
Self-check is to keep prices low against the movement to pay minimum-wage workers a "living wage" of $40,000/yr as a mopper and cashier.
If the US wants to move into the future with super-industrial jobs, then we need to rethink "first jobs" for High School graduates instead of paying them to stay stupid.
The proposed-by-many $15/hour minimum wage translates to merely $30K/year. Maybe one person could live on that if they live in a low cost of living area or share a rental, but not a family with one wage earner. For many ppl in the U.S., Walmart is the largest employer in their area. Not everyone who works there is stupid or a drop-out. We have a s.i.l. who is a manager at Walmart; she has a degree in botany.
We can save a whole bunch of them if we’d close the damned border but we probably differ there too.
You know as well as I that's just for starters. It's like gun control; one step at a time. The Democratic Party logic is to mandate forced higher wages instead of supporting better education of Americans to obtain better jobs.
Basically, what the DNC is advocating is a nation of Trump fans sweeping floors and making a "living wage" on it forever.
It's possible you could be more wrong about that, but unlikely. The Left has been pushing for more funding for schools from preschool up to college for decades. It is the RW that fights back and wants no part of it, using their mantras "I got mine so fuck the rest of you" and "socialism! Socialism everywhere!" Remember Bernie and others who want to make community college free for those qualified to attend?
I've been wrong before, but this is another case of government looking in one direction when they should be looking in another direction. The CDC (probably by direction from above) only looked at the biology of a pandemic and not the sociology.
With the minimum wage, the Democrats are only looking at raising up the wages of the poor, not their ability to earn better jobs.
Here's two scenarios:
1. Federal government mandates $15/hour minimum wage. All burger flippers, janitors and Trump fans rejoice in their new wealth. Five years later where will they be? Still flipping burgers, sweeping floors and posting conspiracy theories on Facebook?
2. Federal government moves the US education system into the 21st Century through support of library computers and national Wifi access. Educational programs are established along with testing centers (the libraries on Saturdays once a month?). Anyone who wants to earn higher education is free to access these services with a library card. Wages are established by the market.
As the nation is seeing now, there's a labor market shortage. Not for pilots, accountants and nurses, but for minimum wage labor. The pandemic hurt minimum wage workers the hardest because they can't work from home. Businesses will raise wages to get the job done, but I expect most will mechanize much of the minimum wage chores with robot shelf stockers, checkout stands, moppers and sweepers. It's Trumpish thinking to go backwards.
Work Smarter, not Harder
Expanded wifi access is part of Biden's infrastructure plan. So is educational funding and jobs training. Who's holding it up? Guess.
