Everyone entering the country should be required to prove that they are vaccinated, show a recent negative test result, or quarantine for 2 weeks. If we allowed more people in legally, we would have control over that. But since the quotas are too small, we have people out there in the desert risking their lives to get here.
What I'm wondering is: If it's so bad here that people think America has 'lost her greatness,' despite 4 years of Trump (guess he was a wash) then why on Earth are so many people risking it all to get here?
The people who think America is not great need to see how it is in a really not-great country.
That might snap some sense into them.
Me, I think America is great, and we have been great all along. I think we should continue to make America greater. More government programs to Promote the General Welfare. More working Americans to amp up the economy. Immigrants built this nation. We would have no trans-continental railroad if it were not for immigrants. Immigrants start businesses. Immigrants create their own jobs. Immigrants make America greater. Diversity makes America greater.
Immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than natural born Americans.

And this is a huge blind spot for democrats who wring their hands over unvaccinated citizens when [at minimum] tens of thousands of economic migrants enter the country every month without so much as being stopped at the border.

That's why I was hesitant, but screw 'em. The vaccine works. I never at any time feared winding up in the hospital. It was unpleasant, but the numbers were squarely on my side. How ironic that for the vaxxed, Covid is now no worse than the flu.
