All war and all killing is immoral. Especially killing civilians.
I would think as a self-identified Christian you would understand that and be able to grasp my point.
We acted in justifiable self-defence, and the world is better off that we dismantled wholesale the militaristic dictatorships in Japan and Germany.
That does not prevent me from reflecting on the costs to our moral authority and sense of justice we may have incurred along the way.
Actually yes. Many of them were very tired of it. I once asked my friend in Japan what his parents and grandparents thought about it. They were like meh! They wanted nothing to do with the war and the imperial government and wanted it stopped.
