War and fighting should always be the last option but it's very important that it remain an option or we risk domination and extinction. Not with just our own species either.

The causes of war are usually competition for resources. War with China? Over what? Resources. Ukraine? Resources. In that case a warm water port essential to the nation. That's why the Russians want to control the entire Black Sea too; geographical resources. All genocides are twofers: eliminate a competitor and take all of their stuff.
