Former Acting Attorney General Testifies About Trump’s Efforts to Subvert Election

Hello T. A. Gardner,

Not to usurp the thread, but I find it interesting that Trump continues to dominate conversation even as the supposedly very popular and elected by the largest popular vote ever Biden wallows in obscurity...

It is not obscure to be a normal president who stays out of the day-to-day lives of most Americans, reserving his appearances for when it is appropriate. It is to be expected. That's what good presidents do.

What Trump did by dominating the news all the time, all about Trump, and by refusing to accept defeat nor allow the country to move on, has been to show the entire world just how attention-needy he is. 'Has been' being the operative phrase there.

Furthermore, it is entirely understandable why a Trump supporter who claims not to be one wants to come into a discussion about Trump's misdeeds and try to derail it into being about something else.

You actually wrote that Biden is wallowing in obscurity? That shows how black and one-sided your media consumption is. He is on TV talking regularly. I suppose Infowars and Qanon do not cover him. Do you know he is involved a huge infrastructure bill? He is shepherding it through congress now.
I can not believe you were sober or sane when you wrote that post.

Jeffrey A. Rosen, who was acting attorney general during the Trump administration, has told the Justice Department watchdog and congressional investigators that one of his deputies tried to help former President Donald J. Trump subvert the results of the 2020 election, according to a person familiar with the interviews.

Mr. Rosen had a two-hour meeting on Friday with the Justice Department’s office of the inspector general and provided closed-door testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Saturday.

Mr. Rosen on Friday told investigators from the inspector general’s office about five encounters with Mr. Clark, including one in late December during which his deputy admitted to meeting with Mr. Trump and pledged that he would not do so again, according to a person familiar with the interview.

Mr. Rosen also described subsequent exchanges with Mr. Clark, who continued to press colleagues to make statements about the election that they found to be untrue, according to a person familiar with the interview.

So it is now illegal for a sitting President to question the suspicious outcome of an election filled with suspicious voting tactics and lacking much oversight? :palm:

Subvert the election. ??? That's what dems did with their 2 year russian meddling investigation re the 2016 election. Turns out they didn't have anything and now it's our turn to challenge an election.

Apparently it's only okay to try to subvert an election with fraudulent Russian dis-information if you the Party of the Jackass. It is truly stunning that so many Americans are duped by these cretinous Fascists. :palm:

Without using Trump to dupe their dimwitted electorate, what else do they have? ;)

This is why 81 million Americans voted for Biden.

Cue the cries of "Fake news" and "liar" and "traitor" from the Reichwingnut Brigade.
None of this matters right now. Republicans gave trump a pass on inciting an attack on the Capitol, after giving him a pass on extorting an ally by demanding an announcement of a fake investigation into Biden.

This info MIGHT make a difference if trump runs for office again. But he has no intention of doing so. He's just fundraising until the last minute when he has to declare as a candidate.

Wrong. It's about doing something of significance. So far the only thing Biden's done that's going to be remembered is the flood of illegals across the Southern border, a major negative. He's signed no major legislation. He might be remembered for the debacle unfolding in Afghanistan. That too is a major failure. He has completely messed up the recovery of the nation from Chinese Disease. History won't be kind to him at this rate.

Whatever you think of Trump, be it jeered, feared, hated, or loved, one thing's for certain: He won't be ignored like Biden is being.

Mr. Rosen also described subsequent exchanges with Mr. Clark, who continued to press colleagues to make statements about the election that they found to be untrue, according to a person familiar with the interview.

He also discovered that Mr. Clark had been engaging in unauthorized conversations with Mr. Trump about ways to have the Justice Department publicly cast doubt on President Biden’s victory, particularly in battleground states that Mr. Trump was fixated on, like Georgia.

Agree. He's stringing the Cult along. He will probably back DeathSantis for 2024.
