In a way, Trump was right.
There was a conspiracy unfolding behind the scenes, one that both curtailed the protests and coordinated the resistance from CEOs. Both surprises were the result of an informal alliance between left-wing activists and business titans. The pact was formalized in a terse, little-noticed joint statement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and AFL-CIO published on Election Day. Both sides would come to see it as a sort of implicit bargain–inspired by the summer’s massive, sometimes destructive racial-justice protests–in which the forces of labor came together with the forces of capital to keep the peace and oppose Trump’s assault on democracy.
The handshake between business and labor was just one component of a vast, cross-partisan campaign to protect the election–an extraordinary shadow effort dedicated not to winning the vote but to ensuring it would be free and fair, credible and uncorrupted. For more than a year, a loosely organized coalition of operatives scrambled to shore up America’s institutions as they came under simultaneous attack from a remorseless pandemic and an autocratically inclined President. Though much of this activity took place on the left, it was separate from the Biden campaign and crossed ideological lines, with crucial contributions by nonpartisan and conservative actors. The scenario the shadow campaigners were desperate to stop was not a Trump victory. It was an election so calamitous that no result could be discerned at all, a failure of the central act of democratic self-governance that has been a hallmark of America since its founding.
dems, this is your time of reckoning. the powers that be told you they cheated. will you still cling to lies?
do you prefer hell, lies, and Lucifer or what?
this is a spiritual battle. who you wit?

That's all. lol
ahhh deflecting once again... didn't obama have a 17 trillion dollar one?
Republicans opposed funds for the IRS to increase their staff to pursue tax cheats and recover tax revenue. I wonder why that is?What better way to argue against deflection than to do it yourself, yes?
The bill won't bankrupt the country any more than the similar Trump administration bill would have. If you are going to claim that argument you need to make it, which certainly is well beyond you. To the extent that higher taxes are needed to pay for the bill Democrats aren't the party opposing them. High income earners have seen their rates fall dramatically from what they used to be. The nation had some of its most prosperous years, in fact, when the top rates were near 90 per cent. The wealthy can well afford to have some of those reductions scaled back cry about it as they will.

Agreed.So, do I.
In Trumplandia teabaggers (www.teaparty.org) think the police and the military are on their side.
The only ones on their side are traitors and Russia.
I wanna see Dotard, his regime and crime family rot in prison, with a prison cam of course.
$20 says it's because, like the ex-prez, most tax cheats are rich and Republican. They're those who own their state's Senators and Representatives....mostly the Republican ones.Republicans opposed funds for the IRS to increase their staff to pursue tax cheats and recover tax revenue. Who Biden? I can believe that, seeing as how he doesn't know he's President half the time...
I thought this immediately when I heard they objected to the measure.$20 says it's because, like the ex-prez, most tax cheats are rich and Republican. They're those who own their state's Senators and Representatives....mostly the Republican ones.
