Of course I am on the left, but that doesn't drive my every comment. I try to see things from both sides. I enjoy learning. I enjoy discussing politics. I recognize that when people have regular discussions for years that they develop a relationship, possibly even a friendship. I think of you as a political forum friend. I respect you. I wouldn't talk to you if I didn't. I have no problem letting everyone in the forum know who I think of as a friend. I don't understand you. You are a regular part of these discussions but you don't want to acknowledge that any of these people here are friends. That's so strange to me. The reason for that is because you are able to discuss these things in a mutually respectful way. That's so rare in here. We have that in common. Of course we disagree politically, but we actually have lots of things in common. I think we are both Americans who want to see our nation do well. My guess is he's keeping them because many in his (union) base like them, but many on the left didn't like them when they were done by Trump. But I'm not privy to their actual discussions so that's just speculation on my part.

I don't live in other countries and could not care less what they see or believe. There's a reason people from shithole countries try to come to the US over other countries.

Most countries already have many of the provisions of Build Back Better, and they don't consider it tyranny at all. Most people LIKE it. That's because health care expenses do not bankrupt people in other countries. And their healthcare systems are far more efficient, which results in them living longer than Americans.

Yeah most other countries also don't view a lack of free speech and various other rights to be a bad thing either, so that's not saying much. And the only reason European countries can afford their healthcare systems is because the US has spent the last half-century+ providing military protection for them so they don't have to worry about defending themselves.

Must be some really effective slick-talking BS to get Americans to work more hours per year, have fewer benefits, roll their eyes at the thought of enjoying 1.5 month paid vacations every year, (if only,) forget about having paid time off for family leave, (Oh, it's just not done,) forget about guaranteed retirement, all so a few people can be fabulously rich and convince the masses that if they are taxed more it is 'tyranny of the majority.'

Not one single extreme Trump supporter here appears to be able to talk about politics without needing to insult others. Why so angry? Why so hateful? There doesn't seem to be any separating hatred from Trump. Without hatred, Trump would never have won an election. The Trump party itself is built upon hatred. It's deplorable. The Trump party wants to dehumanize their fellow Americans on the left and turn them into some kind of enemy. They do that for political gain. But they are fooling themselves. That hatred is a big mistake. It's clouding over the reality. There is no need for that hatred. It's hurting things. It needs to be dropped.

And who is being hated so much? Who is so horrible that they deserve all this terrible hatred?

Fellow Americans. People from the same country who want the same things. Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness. Freedom. A secure life. Prosperity. We all want those things. Liberals, too. It is ridiculous that billionaires and their corporations can weasel out of paying their fair share of taxes with all the loopholes they have created over the years.

We need to fix that.

Part of the Build Back Better Act will force big corporations to at least pay a minimum of 15% tax. That's a beginning. The Act is full of things to make America greater.

Trump campaigned in 2016 on reforming the tax code and taking out all the loopholes for the rich. That sounded like a really good idea. He campaigned on forcing the rich to pay their fair share. He said he knew about all the loopholes because he used them. He said he knew how to get rid of them and simplify the tax code. That was also when Trump was saying he was so rich that he would self-finance his campaign and he wouldn't need donations. Remember that, too? (another lie)

Republicans under Trump passed a tax-cut act. But what was in it? It made the 1040 form shorter and simpler, but it didn't do what Trump promised. It didn't take out the loopholes for the rich. It actually cut taxes for the rich. And those tax cuts for the rich are permanent.

We got baited and switched by Trump.

He said he was going to make the rich pay more taxes but instead, he gave them (and himself) tax cuts.

The tax cuts for the rich are permanent, but the ones the rest of us got are temporary. They expire. Can you believe that?

We got duped! And the deficit rose. That tax cut never paid for itself. It was a give-away to the super-rich.

Supporting Trump is supporting billionaires.

Billionaires don't need our help. Billionaires are fine. Believe that.

We need to support the Build Back Better Act because we are finally going to tax the billionaires a LITTLE bit more.
