Actually, since Charlton Heston was a big NRA guy,

it WOULD be totally reasonable to hold him to a higher standard than Alec Baldwin

in matters of firearms safety.

EVERYONE should be held to the EXACT same standard of safety. The gun does not care who is pulling the trigger. I you aren't capable of following a FEW basic gun safety rules then don't touch the gun its not a toy.

Evidence? There is a dead woman that was struck by a lead projectile from a gun that Baldwin shot. The sheriff says there was a live round in the gun. What more evidence do you need?
