The fact of the matter is if we had done all the right things we would not be in such bad shape right now.
Everybody who did their part was dragged down by those who didn't.
It is a big responsibility to do all the right things, stay out of crowds, no parties, no crowds, no big gatherings, keep distance, wear masks, get vaccines. It is no fun to do all that and still have the pandemic lingering on because other people 'did their own research,' or really, they just flat blew it off.
They didn't want to do the right thing because they 'didn't feel like it,' or they are weak and can't make it on their own. They are insecure and can't be left with their own thoughts. They have to be in the company of other people because it gets too scary on their own. Pathetic. They can't just coordinate with what everybody in the country is supposed to be doing long enough to kick this thing in the butt, so now it's taking way longer.
It's like everybody is pushing this big heavy cart up a hill except some people who are supposed to be helping push are instead just hanging on to what everyone else is doing and actually dragging their feet.
Not only are they not helping, they are making more work for others.
What pieces of work they are.
