The plan is for California to make steep demands, figuring that this will force the producers to not only honor them because California is so large but also shift all production to California compliant, because keeping multiple supply chains is expensive. Keeping in mind that with the current supply chain problems producers already have enough trouble keeping the grocery store shelves stocked even before the Jan 1 deadline. I recently saw a report that out of stock rates on average are nearing 10%.

Also the sku thing is important, we are already rapidly losing selection as producers slash the number of different things they make to both save money and streamline production in an era a massive supply chain problems.

We all lose because of California.

because of t new law going into effect January 1st, the entire state of California will be going vegan in three weeks.......no meat may be sold in the state from hogs that do not have quarters larger than 24 square feet.......meanwhile producers all over the world are ignoring the law.......this means that while the supply remains the same, demand ,other than the black market, will but cut significantly........looking forward to cheap bacon.......
