I find it interesting that so many of the cities now run by people who are trying to force people to stop driving cars have had their roads become much more dangerous after they have implemented their policies, largely without public consent.

When making roads safer is the entire claimed reason for lowering speed limits wholesale.

That's a bit different. California can mandate that vehicles sold in the state meet certain conditions. They can inspect those vehicles in California for compliance. You can't inspect a slab of bacon for having been cage free before becoming bacon unless you go to the bacon plant or bacon farm that's usually in another state and see if your rules are being complied with.

Sorry dumber then a rock (aka Chickenhawk10) but the largest farms are in Iowa, and guess what fool. We never raised our hogs in cages. The get leaner, and grow faster with a third less grain, if allowed to root. And when China bought out Smith they became the largest producer.

As goes California, so goes the nation.

The way it generally works where such mandates are already in effect is that producers must apply for certification and undergo inspections at regular intervals in order to keep their status as a approved producer.

Inspections are normally carried out when a complaint is made. Anyone can file a complaint. Animal rights activists can complain and shut down a livestock operation until a government inspector clears the farm to sell meat again.

It is very labor intensive and costs farmers a lot of money, but that's what happens when leftists vote for laws that make them feel good about themselves without any thought for how extra red tape will impact others.

I suspect that the OP is correct in assuming that Prop 12 was crafted to force consumers to stop consuming meat by including provisions suggested by radical vegan/environmental/animal rights activists.

I think farmers should just stop selling their products to California. I can bet that would get these laws dumped PDQ as the Leftist bullies face the reality that the general public is truly pissed off that they can't get a decent selection of food...

California did not invent the catalytic converter or the FADEC engine design either. That law did absolutely NOTHING.

I think all trade with the SOTC should cease.

They will soon be banning internal combustion engines, meaning no trucks, no trains, no aircraft, no ships, etc.
We should also stop exporting electrical power to the SOTC. After shutting down so many power plants, let 'em sit in the dark and do some serious navel gazing.
