The cage free egg demand hits Jan 1...currently a dozen large is $2.26....what will it be in a few months?
 
If I buy a Sara Lee pound cake in California will the egg need to be cage free in order to be legal?

How far are they taking this, and how far do they intend to take this?

I'd say there is going to be one of two outcomes here:

California does without pork products

or

The law is found unconstitutional because in order to enforce it, California would have to send inspectors to all the other states that raise the pork imported into California (who produces very little itself) which for all intents makes California into a federal pork inspection agency, usurping federal regulatory control on interstate commerce.

10% of the Iowa liquid egg production is now "cage free", almost all because of California criminalizing not cage free.

The Cal Elites are besides themselves with joy.
 
This is yet another great reason for all of us to stock up as much as we can on everything now.

It almost certainly only gets worse from here.
