Pacific Region natural gas storage alarming low

You are exaggerating and taking Joe Biden out of context on things he said. You are misquoting him and basically lying!

You are just flapping your wings because you are a BUTT-HURT LOSER because you chose a LOSER- Donald Trump- to be your leader, and of course he lost because the masses are not going to go with a loser like Donald Trump! Donald Trump was gifted the Presidencuy when the Bernie Sanders people didn't show up in 2016 to vote for Hillary.

WELL THEY SHOWED UP IN 2020, and so did all the REPUBLICANS THAT WERE TOTALLY EMBARRASSED by Donald TRUMP'S insanity during his time in office- AND GIFTED JOE BIDEN with the presidency.

SO YOU BUTT-HURT TRUMPTARDED antagonists are going to just BITCH about anything and everything Joe Biden does or doesn't do no matter what HE ACTUALLY DOES OR DOESN'T DO!

It's called Butthurtedness- Bad Sportsmanship- SOUR GRAPES- Demonizing your political adversaries in retaliation for losing!

You are as much a hopeless loser and liar as Donald Trump and so you stick together like flies on SHIT!

AND I HOPE YOU ARE STEWING IN YOUR OWN HATEFUL SHIT ABOUT IT- AND I HOPE DONALD TRUMP IS TOO!

Seriously man you need to wake up, there are billionaires that have houses in Malibu that want to do everything in their power to shut down fossil fuels.

A new paper from Net Zero Watch argues that climate alarmists are waging psychological warfare on the public.

Those alarmists are being funded by American billionaires, with the help of psychologists who are advising alarmist groups that fear tactics are a useful tool to use on people, which is an utter breach of ethics.

According to the report’s author, Stephen McMurray, “a cursory glance will make it clear that the people behind [climate alarmist groups] are not everyday members of the public but a group of highly influential American billionaires.” [emphasis, links added]

They are the main source of backing for the Climate Emergency Fund, which in turn funds eco-activist groups like Just Stop Oil.

McMurray writes that the three founding members of this “Fund” are Aileen Getty from the Getty oil family, Rory Kennedy, daughter of Senator Robert Kennedy, and philanthropist Trevor Neilson.

All three own houses on Malibu beach, which is at odds with the climate cult’s claim of dramatic sea-level rise.

McMurray also says that professional psychologists are using fear as a weapon to manipulate public behavior.

“Psychologists are saying, quite openly, that telling people facts doesn’t work, and that psychological pressure should be brought to bear in other ways.

“Their professional bodies seem to have no interest in preventing this shameful and completely unethical behavior.”

McMurray says that the Government and Civil Service are also quite open about using psychological warfare against the population at large.

Indeed, the view in Whitehall appears to be that fearmongering, as widely applied during the Covid pandemic, was a success and should be seen as a model for use in the drive for Net Zero.

“Civil servants seem quite happy to treat the public as lab rats for them to experiment on as they see fit. They are out of control, and nobody in Government seems to have any interest in stopping them.”

Wild, Wild West - Natural Gas Price Blowouts Signal Worsening Westbound Supply Constraints
12/13

Last week, even as natural gas day-ahead prices went negative in the Permian’s Waha Hub in West Texas, spot prices at northern California’s PG&E Citygate last week traded at a record-smashing $55/MMBtu, according to the NGI Daily Gas Price Index — close to 100x the Waha price. Other hubs west of the Continental Divide also surged to record levels, while markets just east and north of there were largely unruffled — a sure sign of bottlenecks for moving gas into West Coast markets. This is just the latest instance of severe gas supply shortages and constraint-driven price disruptions out West in recent years (even ignoring Winter Storm Uri and the Deep Freeze of February 2021). Moreover, it’s arguably taking progressively more benign market events to trigger similar or worse shortages. What’s going on? In today’s RBN blog, we break down the factors driving the latest Western U.S. gas price spikes.

Weekly Progression of storage off of the five year average:

-21.5%

-23.6%

-26.4%

-30.3%

Notice that the Mind Molders are still silent on this worsening crisis.

This thread did not age well. This thread and the one about diesel stockpiles both aged very badly. Let me explain why.

Stockpiles are used to level out prices. Companies store up diesel, natural gas, and whatever when prices are low, and then sell them when prices are high. This year had unusual price fluctuation, so unusual raising and lowering of stockpiles.

That being said, there was no reason to panic. We have been producing enough of everything that we do not need the stockpiles. If there had been a major disaster, the stockpiles would have bought us a few days, but there was no major disaster. And there are other bigger backups if there was a major disaster.

So no, we are not all going to freeze/starve to death. There is no reason to panic. Continuing to blather on about a crisis, even though we all see there is no crisis is just silly.

A real human would have a real problem staying as ignorant as you claim to be.

I have plenty of friends in the Pacific Northwest, none are seeing these natural gas shortages. This is a thread that has had 30 days to come true... AND HAS NOT!!! That is the definition of a thread that did not age well.

I have a hard time believing that you are not lying, that you actually are this stupid.

There is no gas shortage in Seattle and the surrounding area. I know that from people I actually know. The news is not talking about any gas shortage anywhere else in the Pacific Northwest. Your severe gas shortage predictions did not happen. You can deny that all you want, but it is a fact.

Nobody talking about the problem does not mean that there is no problem, it simply shows how much our leaders suck. I assume that they are praying for a warm rest of the Winter so that we escape calamity, as there is no way to get more gas to the West coast on short notice, that would take years. This is a problem that has been building over several years, but nobody is dealing with it.

Nobody talking about the problem does not mean that there is no problem

No one is talking about this problem, or even having this problem. The second part means that there is no problem. If no one is having a problem, there is no problem. That is how reality works. So if people are heating their houses, and using gas to cook their food, without a problem, Hawkeye saying their is a lack of gas does not mean there is a lack of gas.

I assume that they are praying for a warm rest of the Winter so that we escape calamity, as there is no way to get more gas to the West coast on short notice, that would take years.

You think the natural gas that the Pacific Northwest uses was transported in years ago? Really?

There is more than enough natural gas transportation capacity (mostly by pipeline) into the Pacific Northwest every day to handle that days natural gas needs. The storage is mostly used to even out prices paid by the natural gas distribution companies. It is slightly used to even out supplies, but there is more than enough to do that. It would also be used in an emergency to makeup for supplies for a few days.

The storage is not all the natural gas that the Pacific Northwest has for the winter, not even close.

It would take years to rig up a system to get more gas to the West as California shuts down all pumping out of the ground of fossil fuels. Currency if we were to keep taking storage at the rate that we did last week reported which takes us to Dec 16 we would be at zero in 11 weeks, though we would run out in some places before we got to zero because the gas would not be at the right places to get used all the way to zero. That is cutting it very close. Last year the second half of winter was relatively warm if I remember correctly but that does not mean that it will be this year. Yes there is some gas sitting on the West Coast not counted in the storage number, but not a lot...we store gas in storage over the year and then use it in winter...if we get down to storage even being 20% of the five year average full then we are in crisis.

There is this:

In the Pacific region, Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) reduced its working natural gas design capacity by 51 Bcf, accounting for the entire decrease in working natural gas capacity in the region in 2021, but capacity increases in Oregon partially offset this reduction. The reduction in working natural gas capacity resulted from a reclassification of working natural gas to base gas in June 2021. The reclassification and resulting decrease in working natural gas capacity represented a permanent shift in how PG&E will operate its storage fields to ensure system reliability rather than to act as a commodity price management tool. Although the reclassification reduced working natural gas capacity by about 50% of its previous level, the total natural gas storage capacity—base plus working natural gas capacity—remained essentially unchanged.

We dont know how much gas PG&E has in this 51bcf stored working gas and even if it is full the West Coast is still down 65bcf from what we had last year at this time after the change took effect....we are headed for trouble. For reference the week prior to dec 16 we took 17bcf.

Natural gas spot prices in the western United States nearly reached or exceeded $50.00/MMBtu in December
On December 21, 2022, daily natural gas spot prices at three major trading hubs in the western United States—Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) Citygate, Sumas on the Canada-Washington border, and Malin, Oregon—settled higher than $50.00 per million British thermal units (MMBtu), the highest level of any other market and an average of $48.12/MMBtu above Henry Hub, the national benchmark natural gas price. PG&E Citygate in Northern California and Malin, Oregon, the northern delivery point into the PG&E service territory, reported the highest natural gas spot prices since December 2000, according to pricing data from Natural Gas Intelligence. The price at Southern California (SoCal) Citygate reached its highest level for the month on December 13 at $49.67/MMBtu.

Proving Almost Never Right Walts claim that there is plenty of gas on the West Coast false.

If you are not an idiot you notice that I am the only one providing quotes from experts and facts with links, which leads to be believe that Walt is willfully lying.

as California shuts down all pumping out of the ground of fossil fuels.

California has not shut down all pumping out of the ground of fossil fuels, and is in fact increasing pumping out of the ground of fossil fuels now.

Currency if we were to keep taking storage at the rate that we did last week reported which takes us to Dec 16 we would be at zero in 11 weeks

Then why would they do that? Remember the gas distributors are using the storage to level out gas prices, so why would they take out gas when it is cheaper. It made sense two or three months ago, and even one month ago, but does not make sense now. Instead, gas distributors are currently using new gas coming into the system.

That is cutting it very close.

There would need to be a major disruption in the system for that to be close at all. That is possible, but unlikely.

we store gas in storage over the year and then use it in winter.

The gas distribution companies buy gas when it is cheap, store it, and then sell it when it is more expensive. This year, that did not mean buying it during the Fall, and storing it.

Almost Never Right Walts

Remember when you were claiming that we would completely run out of diesel a month ago... Not only have we not run out of diesel, but diesel prices have dropped by half a dollar since the time we were supposed to run out of all diesel. Funny how that works.
