Oh my Cypress. You are more of a whiny little bitch today than usual. And no need to ask about UCLA's reputation. Well known as a party school with lower than whale shit entrance standards. Not to mention basically fluff degrees. That is just common knowledge.

If you want to judge the overall quality of a state, looking at the quality of their higher education is a good place to start.

True. That's one of the reasons we chose to retire to Michigan, and to the Upper Peninsula specifically. IMO an educated population is generally a prosperous and peaceful one.

Congratulations, California!

University of Michigan is considered an elite public University, and from what I've seen is consistently ranked in the top three of all public universities in the nation :clink:

Upper Penisula Michigan. 88.6 percent white and votes conservative. The real reason Owl woman moved there.

Nah, you're not getting away with this.

Your post said an aspiring rapper was weeded out of the Los Angeles mayor's race.
Nope. I said a reality TV personality who is an aspiring rapper on the side. Do you ever stop lying?
You offered no other qualifications of this person.
I did. I specifically said his main gig as far as I know was as a television personality. Do you ever stop lying?
I said Mamdani was a rapper. He was!
You're twisting yourself into a pretzel to try to make your post sound intelligent.

You insinuated Mamdi's primary experience was rapping before becoming mayor.
You intentionally withheld the information that he had experience as a state legislator, a political organizer, and a low income housing advocate.

I don't give a,shit if musicians and singers run for public office, as long as they have a wider range of experience

No. Call me every name in the book Cypress, it doesn't change anything. So you can state someone is an aspiring rapper with nothing else about them but I can't? Sure dude.

You are free to desire specific qualifications for those who run for office. That is your right. But that isn't what Prop 14 was about.

The funny thing dude is Prop 14 wasn't some partisan, or culture war, measure. In fact both parties were against it. But you have tried to change what its purpose was to fit your political narrative. It wasn't about getting people with more government experience to run for office. It was an attempt to get more moderate candidates.

When speaking to non Californians you can get away with it. Doesn't work with people who are familiar with it.

You did lie your ass off. Typical.

I said no such thing, liar

A Republican frontrunner who was a reality TV personality and an aspiring rapper was weeded out of the Los Angeles mayor's race.

That sounds like an election system that's working.

I do not give a rat's ass if a singer, rapper, or musician runs for public office, as long as they have shown a broader range of relevant experience.

You insinuated Mandami went straight from rapping to the mayor's office, without even realizing or doing the basic research that he had years of experience as an elected state legislator, political organizer, and low income housing advocate.

Call me a liar all you want. Call me any name you want. It doesn't change the fact that you didn't address the point. But if it makes you feel better, then be my guest.

I guess this has to be repeated over and over. You are free to desire politicians have any level of experience you want. But your wishes have nothing to do with Prop 14 and why it was put on the ballot.

But I think you recognize that which is why you are now going off about Mamdani, who has nothing to do with Prop 14 or California elections.

So the level of your honesty is so low you aren't willing to admit Mamdami had substantial legislative, political, and public policy experience before moving up the food chain to run for NYC mayor.

You thought he just went straight from rapping to the mayor's office, and don't have the integrity to admit you were wrong.

Not surprising. I have first hand experience of your lack of integrity and honesty, and your inability to admit mistakes.

UCLA is one of the most desired and highest rated schools in the world. No wonder you trumptards bash it - you get all your info from trump's fat ass.

The University of California is on top of the world in new global universities ranking.

The University of California is not just the best public university in the United States — it also leads the world.

That’s the verdict of U.S. News & World Report’s 2026–27 Best Global Universities ranking, released Tuesday, June 16. It places four UC campuses in the top 25 of the world’s best 2,250 universities — a feat no other university system in the world can match. It also lists eight UC campuses among the top 30 public institutions in the United States, with UC Berkeley and UCLA as No. 1 and No. 2.

UC’s role as a globally acknowledged research leader is key to American competitiveness and prosperity.

That’s nice. Are you planning on going back to college so you can start a new career?

True. That's one of the reasons we chose to retire to Michigan, and to the Upper Peninsula specifically. IMO an educated population is generally a prosperous and peaceful one.

Since when did the UP get a good university system?
:palm:

Credit where credit is due sir. Your ability to purposefully misrepresent a comment and turn it into a moral crusade is frankly quite impressive.

I understand the need though when you can't back your own argument about Prop 14.

Any fair minded person who reads this thread will understand you tried to insinuate Mandami went from just rapping straight into the mayor's office.

When the facts are that he had years of legislative, advocacy, and political organising experience under his belt before taking it to the next level to run for mayor of NYC.

The really remarkablet thing about the thread though, was you twisting yourself into a pretzel to deny that is exactly what happened.

By "fair minded" you mean your echo chamber?

I'm not having this conversation with anyone else, I'm having it with you.

You're arguing a claim that only exists in your imagination, yet you want me to refute it.

No thanks dude. You can't argue Prop 14 so this is what you're choosing instead.

"It is just common knowledge that Harvard is a community college on the moon."

Let's breakdown all the facts that Sailor got wrong, starting with the claim UCLA is easy to get into. UCLA's acceptance rate is 9%, and dropping fast. That puts it well within the "extremely selective" range. There is not a more selective category.

Cornell has an acceptance rate of 8.4%, and in many ways it is similar to Cornell. Cornell is sometimes called the "party school of the Ivy League", but it is clearly not a conventional party school. Both are not considered party schools, but rather "work hard, play hard" schools. Students often party, after putting in a 90 hour week of hard work.

UCLA is ranked 17th nationally, and 2nd of public schools (Cornell is ranked 12th nationally). That is a great number, and it is rising. It is doing so well because it is connected to the major hub of new industry in America. America's new industrial base is being developed in El Segundo. This puts anything technical from UCLA in high demand.

There is no road to future prosperity for America that does not go through California. The tech sector is centered around San Francisco, and the future industrial sector is centered around LA.
