Jade Dragon
And I'm the one that jaded you.
Are you sure your Meijer doesn't carry them? Ours did, at least at one point. I haven't checked recently.Never even heard of them! We live in the hinterlands, you know, where such things are rare. lol

All this talk about melon reminds me of Mom with Hazel. Melons and bananas were two things they shared often. I miss that puppy girl.I've had honeydew a few times; not a fan either. Home-grown cantalopes though? OMG, they melt in your mouth. A coworker used to go visit her family in Mississippi every summer and bring back a trunk load of them from a local farm. She gave all of her friends a couple each. They were huge, almost the size of basketballs and so sweet you could hardly stand it.
Honeydews are a bit bland to me...although at one time I did enjoy Midori, a Japanese melon liqueur. Kiwis, mandarin oranges and honeycrisps are delicious too. Lately I've switched to Fuji apples since they last a long time in the refrigerator crisper. Sliced up with a tablespoon of peanut butter is a good bedtime snack. Protein before bed helps stave off cravings and promotes muscle growth.I like melons, kiwi, those little tangerines and honeycrisp apples.
Midori is an ingredient in my boozy punch that the neighbors call Swamp Juice. It will knock even seasoned drinkers for a loop.Honeydews are a bit bland to me...although at one time I did enjoy Midori, a Japanese melon liqueur. It's been decades since I drank any. Good stuff.Midori is an ingredient in my boozy punch that the neighbors call Swamp Juice. It will knock even seasoned drinkers for a loop.
Clementines? Or cuties? I'm not sure what the difference is between all of them. I love kiwis!I like melons, kiwi, those little tangerines and honeycrisp apples.
I found them at West Side Market in Cleveland. I'm obsessed with them now. Best grape there ever was!Never even heard of them! We live in the hinterlands, you know, where such things are rare. lol
I don't seek cantaloupe personally, but I have had some really, really good ones. The homegrown MS ones are what I want. Sweet and juicy, sticky and drippy. I don't know why cantaloupes and honeydews always get paired together, but cantaloupe is definitely better than honeydew.I've had honeydew a few times; not a fan either. Home-grown cantalopes though? You should! They are so good it doesn't seem real.We have them, but I've never tried them.
The ones I get are called Cuties or Halos. And I agree 100% on kiwis!Clementines? Or cuties? I'm not sure what the difference is between all of them. I love kiwis!
Yep. In order my favorites are watermelon, cantaloupe and honeydew in 3rd place.I don't seek cantaloupe personally, but I have had some really, really good ones. I've not seen them there but then I haven't specifically looked, either. Sometimes they have some exotic things like this. I forgot what it was called but it's kind of waxy and looks like an alien octopus. lol

Don't you ever wonder who was the first to look at something weird and decide to eat it? Like a lobster. Delicious but definitely disturbing to look at. Or snails. Ick.
I drink fruit and vegetable smoothies every day, and I tend to use frozen blueberries, frozen cherries, fresh banana, pineapple.
Fresh fruit is great but I love the convenience of having a bag of frozen mixed tropical fruit and one of mixed berries. Usually topped with some french vanilla yogurt after defrosting.
My wife loves canned pineapple and cottage cheese for a snack.
I've thought about making smoothies but it seems to be a PITA to break out the blender every day. Do you have a system?I drink fruit and vegetable smoothies every day, and I tend to use frozen blueberries, frozen cherries, fresh banana, pineapple.
It takes me about three minutes to make one. My system is to buy everything pre-chopped and prepped - i.e., bags of frozen fruit, canned pineapple, canned beets, crinkle cut carrots, etc. The only thing I slice by hand is a fresh banana.I've thought about making smoothies but it seems to be a PITA to break out the blender every day. That’s what I do, use frozen fruits. I even use frozen bananas and pineapple. I occasionally throw in veggies, too. I take a beet supplement. It takes me about three minutes to make one. Nice! If one has frozen and canned fruits and veggies I think making a smoothie only takes about as long as making a sandwich. That’s what I do, use frozen fruits. I even use frozen bananas and pineapple. I occasionally throw in veggies, too. I take a beet supplement.
