More Americans died starting the Iran war…

Putting people at risk for no good reason and seeing them die is always worse then having people already at risk, trying to save and remove them, and some die.

You have to be dense not to know that.

Trump's disastrous negotiations with the terrorist Taliban only, while keeping the Afghan military outside the room set up a very predicable instant Afghan gov't collapse the second the US started to pull out.

There simply was no way the Afghan gov't was going to fight a defensive battle having no clue what Trump had conceded to the terrorist Taliban.

Had Trump instead involved the Afghan gov't and got a an agreement between them and the Taliban that the US would be given 60 days (pick number) to get their people and equipment out, then that instantaneous collapse would not have happened.

That was Trump idiocy. Entirely his fault. And likely purposely so with an intent to try and trap Biden in a no win situation. Because if Biden did not stick to the Trump flawed plan and instead told the Taliban it was a bad plan and not workable the Taliban might suspect Biden, like prior POTUS would never leave and start attacking trying to drive up the costs (even more deaths) to try and make him leave.

At that point the same Magats would claim 'Trump gift wrapped Biden a clean exit and all he had to do was stick to the plan and every thing would have worked perfectly and Biden still fucked it up.'
Yep the Trump agreement with the Taliban that gave them everything they had been fighting for for 20 years AND on top of that Trump agreed to even help them,
It may come up Tech diff. if it does just press on it and it will come up so you can read it.

Yup.

The US lost 122 people on average a year for that war.

But if you look at only the last 5 years where it was more maintenance mode it was 14 a year average dying.

Biden ended the war and 13 died but he ended the constant death that would follow year over year.

Trump started a war he cannot end that will continue to rack up more and more deaths while idiots like @Yakuda just cheer him on.

Well I have to ask who the hell would be stupid enough to put the lives of your military people and your allies in the hands of the people you have been fighting and killing for 20 years?
Read the " agreement " and you will see that IS just what Trump did, How stupid can you be?

No one one has to die if you decide to stop fighting. Dont be silly
They did in Afghanistan because the American troops staying there, like they were doing, was preventing the Taliban from killing the people who helped us during the war.

So? In the first case, (Biden) it was during a rout and total defeat. In the second, the outcome has yet to be determined. Body count is not the most relevant thing here. Success or failure is, and Biden unequivocally and massively failed. We have yet to see what happens with Iran.
Biden succeeded in his goal, the Afghan War is over.

What are Trumps goals?

The Taliban are now, again, repressing Afghanistan back to the 12th century and the US has another "Vietnam" debacle added to its history. Not a good look for Biden who is widely acknowledged as one of the most clueless politicians and then presidents on foreign affairs.

Biden easily ranks at the very bottom of presidents in foreign affairs.
What are Trumps goals?

At this point, I'm not sure. He seems to have wanted to end Iran's nuclear program and when that didn't pan out, settled for regime change that ended up just fracturing Iran's political leadership into a gordian knot of warlords and ineffective politicians.

Are you talking about the Taliban terrorists that Trump went directly to, to cut a deal while excluding the Afghanistan government to ensure the US had some back stop as they started the pull out?

That Taliban? The TERRORISTS Trump did a deal with?

We have never been told the truth how many Americans have been killed and wounded is this dumbest of all the dumb American wars.

Wrong answer. Biden made the decision--well his staff likely did--to make a rapid withdrawal. Biden could have scrapped Trump's plan entirely just as he did with other Trump era things, like the border wall.

Biden was under no compunction to follow the Trump plan, and it was his decision to shorten the withdrawal timeline from what Trump had set it at.

So, the debacle in Afghanistan is 100% Biden's fault. Nobody else is to blame here. Biden fucked Afghanistan away. It's that simple.

Yes he could have.

And had he and the Taliban then felt betrayed and that the US was again refusing to leave and they attacked killing more American's hoping to raise the cost to get them to leave Terry would be the first one here saying 'Biden incompetence is responsible for this. Trump negotiated and buttoned up a deal for him and all fucking Biden had to do was follow it'.

That is the point. Trump did a terrible deal that put Biden in a mostly unwinnable situation either way.

And no one cares what Terry thinks when top military officials point squarely at the deal Trump cut as the problem.

Imagine being idiotic enough to negotiate with the terrorists alone while shutting out the local gov't you know the US is counting on as they pull out.

Biden was a mental midget and had a long, decades long, track record of being a foreign policy fuck up. I've already demonstrated that. Afghanistan was just another fuck up by Biden in a long line of fuck ups. A few military officers foisting their opinions on this means nothing.

Actually, looking at your links, it was the opinion of one (1) general and nothing more. I didn't bother to look McKenzie up, but I'll bet he's a Trump hater on top of everything else.

As I stated, Biden ranks at the bottom of presidents when it comes to foreign affairs.

And yet Trump not only negotiated with TERRORISTS while locking the actual government out, but he cut a deal so bad America's top generals and other prominent individuals and groups criticized it but due to TDS you will assume it HAD to be a great deal , if Trump did and all criticism is just Trump hate.

WIth your TDS you have nothing to say about that. i imagine if Biden had negotiated with the TERRORISTS while shutting the gov't you would never stop talking about that.

The 2020 Doha Agreement between the Trump administration and the Taliban drew intense, high-level criticism from military leaders, foreign policy experts, and former officials across the political spectrum. Critics argued the accord heavily favored the insurgents, undermined the internationally recognized Afghan government, and set the stage for the collapse of the Afghan republic. The Taliban was always going to get it back, that’s why Trump did not end the war himself. Cowardly behavior.
