Bye.Cool beans
Bye.Cool beans
LolYou are incapable of debate. Why you mostly write insults.
Scared of science? Bye creationistBye.
You called me dumb. Hypocritezzzzzzzzz you always end up writing inane insults
No science here...move along...move along...You have a pretty hard job of addressing the science on this point since it seems that actual brain scans indicate maybe free will is a myth.
But then I suspect science doesn't much get in your way anyway.
No science here...move along...move along...No science here...move along...move along...
No science here...move along...move along...OR MAYBE THE SCIENCE INDICATES IT.
The Theory of Creation is not a theory of science, Murphy. It is a religion. You Creationists always assume the worst about science don't you?
...and your point...?
The Theory of Creation is not a theory of science, Murphy. It is a religion. No science here...move along...move along...
The Theory of Creation is not a theory of science, Murphy. It is a religion.
I might point out that very few scientists are atheist.
Science does not attempt to prove whether any god or gods exist or not.
Science itself is completely atheistic, just like mathematics and just like logic.
None of these change at all whether a god or gods exist or not.
It is completely free, Murphy, even if you can see an indication before the action becomes known to someone else.If someone can predict another person’s choice milliseconds before they are themselves consciously aware of their own choice ( which is what the fMRI results would indicate) then free will is hardly free
...and your point...?functional MRI
The intent is the free will, Murphy.Like I said the data indicate that there is intent coming before the conscious development of the choice
No science here...move along...move along...Ignore the science as it is convenient
Intent is free, Murphy. That is free will. fMRI only sees it happening. Big hairy deal.I thought we were discussing free will and not your specific question. If the intent to call your friend developed in your brain there’s a chance it could have been seen in an fMRI scan milliseconds before you were conscious of your decision. Ergo free will would be meaningless
You have denied that. Then I have answered that
No you need to accept the pain. The search for "reducing" pain is whats caused all the problems we have. Modern life is about nothing if not avoiding pain, conflict, disagreement etc etc etcThe Menzies see the surrender of free will not as a way to reject moral responsibility, but rather to reduce the pain we carry. “Once you accept the fact that you are made up of atomic particles that must act in a determined way, that there are distributed causes that are playing out across time, then it is far easier to be gentler to the self and to others,” Ross says.

Being human is hard, this pair of psychologists say. Could accepting we don’t have free will make it easier?
For Ross and Rachel Menzies, making peace with our smallness can help us navigate the challenges of human existencewww.theguardian.com
Science is not a study. In other words Murphy posted a fringe scientific study that has come in for widespread criticism in the scientific community, and tried to pass it off here as the accepted scientific consensus
Yet people support Trump, who is nothing if not the cause of destruction. No you need to accept the pain. The search for "reducing" pain is whats caused all the problems we have. Modern life is about nothing if not avoiding pain, conflict, disagreement etc etc etc
You were never in grad school, Hugo. Your own illiteracy has already demonstrated it.Not fringe. But not widely accepted. I heard about when in grad school.
