should all the companies be able to externalize all costs on the people through government. No, I'm saying that if they inherit it and do nothing more with it, they shouldn't have to pay taxes on it.
LIE.That is paper wealth. Until the stock is sold, it has no actual value, only an intrinsic one. I agree on the point that if the inheritors get it and they sell, they should pay on the full value of the stock at the price it was sold. That means if they sell for $1 billion, they pay taxes on $1 billion.
Where we disagree is that the stock should be taxed at it estimated value when it transfers owners due to inheritance. I see that as having no tax applied whereas you want to tax that transaction.
And you said this......
So the kids could actually do something the Founders of those companies could not and that is liquidate all $1T in stock and pay zero tax.
...
Heirs could liquidate a Trillion dollars in stock with a Capital gains reset and not pay a penny in tax on that income to them.Sounds like a great thing to me! Government did NOTHING to deserve a penny of that wealth. NOTHING! It is far more fair that the person(s) that made that money can decide what to do with it than government steal it upon their death and keep it while doing nothing to have earned a penny of it.
The rich don't get their money for free. They accumulate it at great personal risk and stress. Balls most of us don't possess.Either have to pay an inheritance tax on all that wealth or pay the capital gains.
When the rich don't have to pay either, it means the rest of us have to pay more while they get their money for free.
The Meek Inherit the WindThat the guy making $50k should not be forced to pay tax on his income for it but the 3rd generation heir getting his $1B in income via inheritance does not have to pay one cent. He gets to utilize everything but pay for nothing.
Because they then destroy democracy with the wealth powerwhy are liberals so against wealth, except for themselves?
Bow down you little minionThe rich don't get their money for free. They accumulate it at great personal risk and stress. Balls most of us don't possess.
You fucking losers all the time scheming to get something for nothing are a sickening lot.

The Tumor That Takes away Our TomorrowAbout 1/3rd of Billionaires become Billionaires NOW via inheritance and not work.
A throw back to the age of being born of a Kings or other aristocracies family being the path to success and wealth instead of work and merit. It is an emerging Caste system in America.
Inheriting is becoming nearly as important as working
More wealth means more money for baby-boomers to pass on. That is dangerous for capitalism and society
Daddy-Moochers Are the Ones Who Freeload from Cradle to Grave
The heirs who get the money you Preppylovers refuse to talk about didn't do any of that; their Daddies did. But when Daddy is deceased, he owns none of it and has no say about what the rest of the country does with it. Unless you believe in ghosts, which is at the emotional and mental level of believing in inheritance, no harm will be done to the public by giving it to benefit the country.
HeirDads want to somehow live after they're dead. Their superstitious belief is that buying the success of their sons is part of that. Now they even set up their daughters ahead of talented Americans; doubling the power of the "heiristocracy" is the goal that enabled Feminism.
I do not necessarily agree with that nor taxes on home valuation increases that are not realized, unless we carefully carve it out for top wealth tiers and do it more in the form of wealth tax.
It will be those in the middle class often hurt the most by an unrealized Capital gains tax, if they choose to hold stocks in their savings or retirement portfolio, if they are forced to sell simply because of a paper gain.
I will use Meta to explain, albeit as a simplistic way, to do so.
![]()
Lets say a young couple put $25000 savings into Meta stock in 2020 at $100 a share getting 250 shares.
When it peaks in 2022 at $400 a share you would arguably owe about $15,000 in capital gains tax but your investment is worth $100,000.
You now are able to use that asset (stock) when buying a home, etc as a collateral consideration.
So now to pay your tax on this unrealized (not sold) stock, you are forced to sell about 40 shares to cover it. You are left with 210 shares.
When the price plummets to below $100 in 2023 your asset is worth less (it is lower price but you have LESS of it) and even on the full recovery back to near its peak, it is worth less.
You have hit this middle class pretty hard even in a case where the stock recovered. Now imagine a stock that does not recover after it plummets. Instead they just stay down for years on end. You paid the peak tax but have no asset or collateral value you can recover.
Cast away Castei would take that but i actually think that is not enough.
For some strange reason (lobbying) the government has decided that tax on people labor should get the highest rate. That when people work hard they should pay the most tax.
I feel the opposite. The people who work hard for their money should get a break and pay the lowest amount of tax rate.
Capital gains tax, inheritance tax, etc often being passive gained income by a person not working at all should get a higher rate IMO.
But sure, if it is all we can get than tax them equally as it is a crime (lobbying gained crime) to not do so as a minimum.
"Nepos of the World, Unite!!!"It is because of American security and infrastructure and political system that most of the worlds top entrepreneurs want to build their company there as opposed to in Somalia or Turkistan.
You are stupid so you have no clue about any of that and just think they could build their corporations in any undeveloped, undefended country and have the same success.
Dads work hard to give their kids a good life. Sorry you are envious of them but that still doesn't entitle you to their stuff.Daddy-Moochers Are the Ones Who Freeload from Cradle to Grave

We are talking about inherited wealth, which is pretty much money for free. As for "great personal risk and stress", there is a lot of that in being poor. The rich don't get their money for free. They accumulate it at great personal risk and stress. Balls most of us don't possess.

The lesson here, WWW, is...do not be poor. Work hard and accumulate generational wealth. We are talking about inherited wealth, which is pretty much money for free. As for "great personal risk and stress", there is a lot of that in being poor.
