The Milwaukee Brewers remind me of...........

Essentially you consider the Brewers to be the best pound-for-pound team in MLB.
They had a good shot last year but couldn't get past the damn Dodgers... got swept out of the playoffs 4-0.... But this year they returned the favor, sweeping THEM out of the playoffs 4-0.

If any year is "the year" for the Brewers to win it all, it's this year. Yippee!

Not that I super duper care or anything... but I do generally feel good when Wisconsin sports teams do well (except for the Packers... they can lose all they want... just not the same without Favre as the face of the team).

Shockingly my wife has really gotten into the spirit. She has watched almost all of the playoff games with me so far. She too will be wearing Brew crew gear tonight. Both looking forward,.....should be a really good series. I keep coming back to Brewers in SIX,...but who knows,...the games STILL have to be played and won on the field.

Miz, Henderson, Bobby Gas to pitch games one thru three. I'm thinking game four could be a a little something different. Something Crazy like Harrison comes out and pitches as an opener,...1st 2 innings,...then Brandon Woodruff comes in and pitches 3, 4, and 5. Something along those lines.

Yes, Except for the first inning, the Crew looked good. They dig and scratched their way to a win tonight, and now to a 2-0 lead in the Series. They need 2 of the next 5 games. If they keep playing like they are so far, that shouldn't be that difficult. In theory...

I think it goes six,...and ends with the first game back in Milwaukee in front of the Home crowd,...but who knows. Anything can happen.

After winning the first two the odds are now up to an 88.24% chance of b rewers winning the World Series.

Pete Rose is rolling over in his grave. MLB sucks for banning him for life.
I loved Rose,...but I don't get what he has to do with this world series???????? Why is he rolling in his grave? Or are you just talking about the betting odds?

10-1 for the game three win. yeah,...we got this. Now I'm starting to think were going to sweep them and win it all tomorrow! Tampa has to be totally disheartened now.

Johnny Bench was my favorite player when I was a kid. I brought up Rose because every other commercial is a betting site. Holy hell, you can bet on whether the current batter will hit, strike out, fly out or ground out. Same with Football, College sports and even High School sports.
But enough with my bitching about gambling sites...
The Brewers only need 1 out of the next 4, and I'm sure tonight's shellacking has the Rays dismayed. The Brewers didn't even use their heavy bull pen arms tonight. It's hard to tell if there will be a sweep, there will be a hell of a lot of revenue lost if the Brewers sweep. I don't think the Rays can come back and win 4 games in a row, though. Brewers will become World Champions, then I'll watch Hockey....

I'm liking our chances tonight. We have a fully rested Miz and they don't have any fully rested starters available and their bullpen is in rougher shape than ours.

If Miz can last 5 innings (ideally 6, but i'm just hoping for 5), we should be in good shape. Uribe can go another inning, Ashby had about 30 pitches yesterday, but should still be good for another 20? (that's at least one inning), Hall could maybe pitch an inning, or at least part of one?, and Megill is as fresh as he'll ever be. He's got at least an inning in him. Romero is also pretty fresh for at least an inning.

As for the Rays, their better pitchers, for the most part, have tired arms. Just gotta keep playing Brewers baseball... be patient with pitches to drive up pitch counts, foul off lots of pitches on the X-2 count to further drive up pitch counts, and just keep wearing them down and the hits/runs will come with time and tired arms. The Rays shouldn't get any more than a run or two at most off of Miz, and the bullpen except for Drohan has been rock solid.

And our fans did a local Florida Bar a real solid by helping out his bank account!

" Milwaukee Brewers fans did not actually drink Tropicana Field entirely out of beer, but they did drink a nearby sports bar out of its entire monthly supply of light beer in a single day.
During the World Series matchup between the Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays, traveling Wisconsin sports fans flooded the St. Petersburg area. The viral rumors focused heavily on Ferg's Sports Bar & Grill, a massive landmark establishment located right across the street from the stadium.
The jaw-dropping stats behind the Wisconsin takeover include:

  • A month's supply in one day: Ahead of Game 3, fans consumed over 1,000 cases of Miller Lite and Coors Light—amounting to roughly 24,000 to 26,000 beers. The bar typically moves that exact volume over the span of an entire month.

  • Emergency shipments: The onslaught completely exhausted the bar's immediate stash of Miller Lite. The owner, Jake Ferguson, had to secure an emergency truck delivery on Tuesday morning to restock the venue for Game 4.

  • Statewide product pull: To keep up with demand and prevent going completely dry, distributors scrambled by pulling additional inventory from reps across the entire state of Florida.

While local Rays fans joked that they contributed to the high sales numbers, everyone agreed that the "Brew Crew" successfully rolled out the barrel and stimulated the local St. Pete economy. "
