If you give the government an avenue to withhold the license for your Constitutional rights, the government will devise a way to withhold all licenses just as the Jill Biden administration withheld all oil drilling licenses. If you give the government the power to determine whether or not you "pass" a "background check" in order to enjoy your Constitutional rights, then the government will devise a "no fly" terrorist list, from which no names may ever be removed, and start loading everyone's name onto it, and we will all watch as one-by-one, everyone has their Constitutional rights rescinded.

Likely? It's probable one of our instructors trained you. I shoot along side law enforcement at my gun club. Quite often, actually.

I needed fingerprinted in order to purchase one of my weapons from the Dept. of the Army. That should suffice.

Global warming is real. The metrics do not lie. Ocean temperatures are rising. The polar ice caps melting. The water levels rising. Weather systems have become more volatile. This is all numbers and numbers do not lie. What we do not know is how much of it is natural and how much of it is man made.

I do not know how we address it, since if it is more a natural phenomenon I am not sure there is much mankind can do to address it. Though we ought to try as much of lower Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn are going to be under water at some point, as well as a lot of Florida. The naval base at Norfork is largely flooded nine to ten times a year these days. The Army Corp of Engineers estimates that by 2050 it could be flooded 280 days of the year, and by 2100 over 20% if the base would be permanently under water.

I am all for green energy but it has nothing to do with the environment. It has everything to do with economics. The economy of scale says that carbon energy is going to continue rising in cost, while green energy will continue to fall in price. The nation that handles the conversion best and holds the patents for it will have a major advantage in the economics of the future. I'd like that to be the United States.

Trans people have human rights. That does not mean you allow children who have no knowledge of themselves yet or their sometimes ditzy parents to make choices in their adolescence that will have lifetime impact on their lives. What needs to be done is allow them to get to know themselves, give them all the love and the best advice they can get from professionals, and make those life altering decisions when they are mature enough to make them.

It also doesn't mean its fair to allow those who have begand maturation of their bodies under male hormones to compete in women's sports. Anymore than you would allow any other participants who had long term use of PEDs to compete.

I am aware. I am not casting dispersions on them as trainers. They just didn't train my acadamy class, nor where they trainers in my advanced classes later on, those where professional law enforcers themselves. Though I think I remember one of them saying they had taken NRA classes at one point.

Competitions are all well and good but none of that kind of shooting has much to do with the use of firearms under duress in self defense or law enforcement applications.

I'd be willing to put my firearm skills up against yours...any day. Clean your spotting scope lenses!

I use point and shoot at close range and iron sights out to 25 yards. I qualify twice annually. I initially qualified distinguished expert level and held that for over 40 years. I am 70 now, I do not practice all that often anymore, and my older hands and rotten lower body mobility issues means I only fire expert level these days. Still I think I might hold my own against most. Especially if its a firing under duress training exercise.
