The MAGA morons in particular, and the Republicans in general, are showing the kind of cowardice I never expected to seen in a politician in America. I wish I could say that I am astonished, but fact is that this kind of cowardice is seen frequently in Republicans.
Trump is not likely to last to May....the runners of Empire have no choice but to replace him.
How can he? The Supreme Court will nip that in the bud.
I hope that the Supreme Court would put a stop to it... But, even if they do, how far in will they do that. They cannot block trump from announcing, that is freedom of speech. I do not think they can stop trump from being nominated, the Republicans can nominate whoever they want. They might be able to keep trump off the ballot, but maybe not. Even without considering the huge number of voters that this would turn off, the rest of the trump votes might just be discarded by the Supreme Court.
Or a riot of trumpers might kill the Supreme Court.
The Constitution limits POTUS terms to two. He can announce whatever he wants, campaign wherever he likes, but he cannot be on the ballot. I doubt if he will stay semi-sane long enough for us to worry about that anyways. He's already immensely unpopular and is going to cost the (R)s this election. He'll cost them the next one as well if he's still alive by then.
trump is definitely headed for 20% support, which is enough to get him nominated. Those supporters are willing to believe anything to support him, so the Constitutional prohibition is nothing to them. If he lives(a big if as you say), it will be interesting... Not good, but interesting.
Those clowns get the best medical care possible, better than anything you or I can get, so a prolonged "life" (even if lived in a locked memory care unit) is a possibility. Look how long Cheney lasted with a bad heart and an ICD. The (R)s will find some equally fucked-up replacement for the orange shitgibbon. Have you seen clips of Kegsbreath and JD "That's a nice couch you got there" Vance speaking? They don't speak, they bellow like Trump does. They use the same talking points. They're looking to be the next #DerangedDespot.
Cheney had a heart attack in 1978, was given two more years to live, and lived for another 27 years. He did stop smoking, and started eating healthy, but he also had doctors monitoring him 24/7, and got bumped up to the top of the heart transplant list. There are not enough hearts to go around, so someone else died so Cheney could get a few more years.
Good point. Another: He was 71 when he got a new heart. They usually don't do organ transplants after age 70.

Think about that, he had a very destructive heart attack that nearly killed him at age 37, given two years to live, and then lived another 47 years until age 84. He lived the majority of his life after his first heart attack.

To some extent he does, but not on something this clear cut. Two terms. That's it. Don't have to be back-to-back, just two, period.
Financing another campaign is an issue too. Will zillionaires back him on the likelihood that he'll be tossed off the ballot? Musk would but would anyone else?
