A little education for our Maga/Alt-Right friends.

Poor Matty....he doesn't have the cojones or the intelligence to debate the content of the OP, so he just parrots maga/alt-right blather in an ad hominem attack (a favorite accusation used by folks of Matty's ilk).

Let us know when you sober up and are willing to debate content and issues, gumby.
The OP is non-content.
Eat a bag of dicks, you worthless oxygen thief.
Page me when you come up with anything relevant, douchebag.
You damn sure did not here, bitch.

But let us be VERY clear regarding the congenital racism that permeates zoning and suc is a significant factor here. That is a historical fact and current reality that cannot be diminished via generalized economic overview. I'm NOT saying you are of that mindset, I'm just making a point.
If you've ever been to the East Bay you may be familiar with College Ave. It starts in an upscale neighborhood in Oakland and runs through Berkeley and next to the Cal campus.

There's a proposal for two senior living towers on the street that would provide much needed housing (this would be in Oakland).

Needless to say the NIMBYs are out in full force fighting against this one. This column is from our local progressive political writer and I was pretty surprised he said this:

The burgeoning battle over a proposal to build 415 units on the site of a popular Trader Joe’s in Oakland’s Rockridge neighborhood is a cautionary tale about what Gov. Gavin Newsom has called California’s “original sin” — its failure for decades to build enough housing, which has created a crippling affordability crisis.

Rockridge, the North Oakland neighborhood where the average home price is $1.8 million, was long a poster child for NIMBYism. Even though 89% of Wicks’ district voted for Kamala Harris in 2024, and signs in front of many homes virtue-signal that “In this house, we believe in science” and “Black Lives Matter,” there is almost no affordable housing, and neighbors have long swatted away anything that violates the height limits along its College Avenue commercial corridor.

But now, the NIMBY chickens have come home to roost. And in the case of Rockridge, it will likely have to choke down two massive towers that are out of scale with the three- and four-story buildings that line College Avenue. Perhaps more important to many residents: They could lose their beloved Trader Joe’s.

On the surface these aren't the kind of people you would think of as being racist. But racism can come in many, often subtle, forms. How much would you attribute this battle to racism?

progressives are actually very racist.

they use black people as a project to feel good about themselves.

Translation: another maga/alt-right troll lashing out like a child because he can't logically or factually defend his stance. Once I reduce these cretins to this level I let them cool of in the ignore bin for a month or so. He’s done.

Which has NOTHING to do with point I made. To emphasize just in the last year or so:

Maybe we're having different discussions then. I thought we were talking about zoning and NIMBYism.

The articles you are linking to are about lending. Still real estate related of course but not the same as zoning or NIMBYism.

You're splitting a hair: zoning and Nimby-ism are directly linked to bank loans, as the articles shows ... and racism played a HEAVY role in that.

I'm not denying caste/class and good old fashioned snobbery & selfishness haven't been players, but a black folk got their civil rights, the aforementioned policies went into over drive. Matters of history, matters of fact.

I still think we're talking past each other here. As mentioned, I can show you my book shelf which has multiple books on the history of zoning and all that it entails. So I'm well aware of the history.

We were having a discussion (or so I thought) on present day NIMBYIsm and you broke down what you felt were two different kinds. You brought up the racism involved in it. Thus my post about the Oakland project on College Ave. I didn't post that as some gotcha or trying to fight. I posted it asking your opinion about how much racism you felt is involved in the folks opposing a project like that.

Not so much talking past each other as you seem to be trying to make an equivalency where there really is none. .. it's more of an "apropos" situation. Then again, your examples are NOT the equivalent of say Levittown, NY which was highlighted in the video . It is what it is.

OP's cognitive function is quite low.
I've seen better debaters in 8th grade.
The OP video is 2 progressafags making things up as they go along.
Watching that video is the equivalent of reading McSweeney's. :dunno:
After 3 falsehoods, and 1 "African American", that was enough for me. Several minutes in that I'll never get back.
I know some African Americans, they're white and speak Dutch.
I know some black Americans, too, their families have been here for centuries and there ain't no Africa about it. :nono:
They're American as it gets.

Tai Chi, I'm not making any equivalency. I suppose I need to repeat this every post, if I weren't so technology illiterate I would take a picture of my bookshelf and show you all my books on real estate, zoning and exclusion. I have in no way denied the history of it.

I get it dude, this is JPP. In the real world people tell you to be a good listener and to ask questions, that's how you learn. We operate differently here. We come here to 'fight', not actually engage with each other.

So I suppose the fact I'm actually asking your opinion, comes across strange on here. But asking you about the College Ave project, which in reality is a proxy for any development across the country, is not making any moral equivalency or denying history.

You stated present day NIMBYism has its roots in racism. I'm asking your opinion how much you think racism is involved in those opposing this project.

Post #100 where it all started, so your repetition won't change our exchange. You insist upon inserting an OPINION of cases that is just a parallel of what I documented ... but it us NOT the same, as history and current legal cases show. Matter of history, matter of fact. I can't make that any clearer. So unless you've got something new to add aside from variations of the previous exchanges. I'd say we're done here and will let you have the last word. See you on some other thread.

If I were king for a day I would eliminate single family zoning. That would allow for ADU's, duplexes, triplexes and even small multi-family developments in basically all neighborhoods.

We're not going to end up in situations where people in section 8 housing are living next to $20m homes, but that is how neighborhoods can become more inclusive economically and can increase opportunity for more people.

The chronology of the posts makes you a pathetic liar.
False statement. A simple cursory review of your posts will show that they are all nothing but baseless and erroneous declarations like the one above. You simply declare things without making any effort to support your assertions, precisely because you are incorrect on every single one.

A full review of your posts will reveal that you have never posted anything that is correct, or anything that is honest.

Also, how stupid are you to deny the reality of the bias of the distribution
How stupid are you to have never learned statistical math, and yet to pretend to be an authority?

You worship Global Warming, don't you? Ask me how I know.

All you've done is demonstrate your ...
All you've done is demonstrate that no one should listen to you.

Have you learned what "Cause > Effect" is yet? No? OK.
