Canada is quite different from the US.
The United States is a federated republic. It has constitutions.
Canada has no functioning constitution.
It's current form of government is federated dictatorship, with most provinces as oligarchies.
Most of Canada's population lives along the border with the US.
Canada has 'universal healthcare', which is essentially communism, providing substandard care (if any at all!), and is very expensive.
The United States does not.
Despite these differences, the border between the United States and Canada is quite peaceful and fairly easy to cross.
