Accepting Nomination From White House Lawn Violates Hatch Act

I can't wait to see what the ratings are, especially compared to last week's DNC.

Excellent point. OTOH, as pointed out on another thread, the DNC had their own cable channel for the convention so ratings for it on cable news networks was down a bit. Since the RNC didn't do that, then their ratings should be a reasonable comparison to 2016 using the cable news networks.

Hello Althea,

I didn't watch. No reason. I even fast forwarded past every speaker while watching the recap after the event.

I heard the ratings were awful. That's going give the orange buffoon diaper rash.

Ut oh,

Bad ratings?

That's gonna leave a mark.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

Agitators are always a good scapegoat but I like to look further. Sure, an agitator can light a fuse but always remember that fuse has to exist in the first place.

What do think would happen if a man shows up to HS football game and says "Burn, baby, burn!" and throws a molotov cocktail at a police cruiser? Do think the crowd would rise up with him?.....or subdue him?

The conditions have to be right for violent protest to ignite regardless of which side actually lights the fuse. Eliminate the reason for the fuse and there is nothing to ignite.

Agreed.

Logically, if people want DT gone, they should stop protesting. The protests are helping him now.

That wasn't my creation but I'm working on the next level. ;)

:whoa:

Ummmmkay. It would make it a lot more believable if I hadn't personally been attacked with your lies and, as pointed out in the beginning here, you attacked both sides equally over a specific issue, not just when it was convenient.

Where do you think I'm passing judgment? On you for being a liar and hypocrite? Yes. Isn't it obvious? I was trying to be nice. :)
You know nothing about schools, teachers, and, most importantly, my career...but you're passing judgment on all. Why would you do that?

Long before being selected, the Corruption-in-Chief tapped into the dark fetid well of angry, disgruntled, and fearful racist white men -- and their women as well. He painted himself as their voice, and he has repeatedly advocated violence in his screeches. Remember in 2016 how he told cops to bang perps' heads on the police cars? Urged supporters to beat up protesters who showed up at his screeches, even offering to pay their legal fees? The 17-yo shooter went to at least one of his rallies. Looks like mama was totally on board as well. I hope both of them enjoy prison.

Why do you think that well was there to be tapped? It goes the same way with the BLM movement; there has to be a problem among "We, the People" for this to arise. Politicians may, and often do, exploit it, but it has to be there. Trump didn't make this well, he is just drinking from it.

The fact he even made it through the Republican gauntlet to win the nomination says Americans are unhappy with the status quo. The "direction of the country" poll for the past ten years indicates a solid majority of Americans do not agree with our nation's direction, about 60% on average just eyeballing it. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/direction_of_country-902.html

This report indicates 84% are dissatisfied and 72% "wrong track". https://www.pollingreport.com/right.htm

People are unhappy and it's not because of COVID. COVID only made a bad situation worse. In fact, without COVID, Trump most likely would have won reelection.

So, the most important parts of my comments, in your opinion, are the ones affecting you personally, not the teaching profession as a whole?

Yeah, that's what I do, making critical judgments. It's in my job description for both military and civilian careers.

When was the last time you had any actual interaction in schools or with educators? You can't make "critical judgments" when you know nothing about the profession or environment you're judging...Perhaps at one time you were involved in education...but nothing recent, correct?
You've no basis for passing judgment on me...no info or involvement ever.;)

Your one sock named Saul A. Boutmee -- one of the few where you didn't use someone's personal info or real name to mock them -- is probably the best one you came up with. It really *is* all about you, isn't it?

It was my job for about 45 years. Any teacher worth a shit knows life isn't fair. A Special Ed teacher would certainly know it.

Sure I do. Everybody does. This isn't kindergarten, love. It's Real Life IRL

My new word of the day, and a very interesting one. Thanks!

It fits Trump to a capital "T". It also fits others who demonize a group or people. Trump is an extreme degree of what both the Democrats and Republicans have been doing since the Cold War ended.

It's " fake stories for every occasion" hour again...;)

Trump has urged violence from the beginning of his political career. He does it so much, that his escalations are not even noticed anymore. Trump tries to appeal to the worst of us and he has succeeded.
