Can you prove the person who fired the fatal shot was the aggressor?
It's actually only a misdemeanor in Georgia. But that is correct.
That's not what the video shows, and it's not what the report says.

His side of the story is unknown, and the idea that he was an innocent "jogger" was an corroborated statement made by the deceased's mother after the fact. Focus on the evidence that can be seen and proven. That's what people who respect the law do. That's why the two men aren't in jail.
I’ll answer that, no, Georgia law doesn't require a person to be in their residence to defend themself.

Hopefully the police have that digital recording as well as the cellphone video of the denouement.

They armed themselves with guns before getting in a truck to pursue him.
The father said his son, Travis McMichael, got out of the truck holding a shotgun, and Arbery "began to violently attack." He said Arbery was shot as the two men fought over the shotgun, according to the police report.
After Arbery was shot, the police report says, Gregory McMichael turned him onto his back to see if he was armed. The report doesn't say whether he had a weapon".
