America Retreating from Religion

Sure, and I am Superman's brother in law.

Explain to me what the motivation would be for lying on an obscure message board to people I do not know and will never meet.

Since you obviously have put a great deal of thought into my personal spiritual beliefs, I attend church service maybe three times a year, enjoy the tradition, appreciate many tenets of Christian faith, occasionally try to fully embrace faith, but I have doubts and maintain a free thinking posture towards the whole enterprise.

Good to know, thanks.

Not fast enough?!!

Donald Trump: Sent By God? The chosen one?!!

"Since 1990, the fraction of Americans with no religious affiliation has nearly tripled, from about 8 percent to 22 percent. Over the next 20 years, this trend will accelerate: by 2020, there will be more of these "Nones" than Catholics, and by 2035, they will outnumber Protestants."

This is why the Christian Nationalists feel they must take over the Government. They know they are losing Membership.

So dip shit

Would u rather have the America of 2021 or 1957 1977?

We did not have this nut getting a pass to go into the girls bathroom in 1957 77 nor did we call the IT normal

About 3.8 billion years ago, after the heavy bombardment period, when we see single celled archae and prokaryotes showing up in the geologic record.
Where did they come from?

I accept your tacit admission that evolution occurred on Earth.

As to the separate topic of abiogenesis, no one knows.

Organic molecules are ubiquitous in the universe, and laboratory experimentation has proven that amino acids, the precursors to proteins, can naturally manifest themselves under certain biogeochemical conditions.

How you get from amino acids and proteins to self replicating cells is an area of active research, and I doubt we are anywhere close to understanding it.

Never did I! Where did it all start genius? Big Bang? what caused that?

No one really knows, but a conventional hypothesis is the big bang resulted from quantuum fluctuations.

It is well established in quantum mechanics that the creation of matter can be uncaused— it can spring from nothing.

It is not implausible to speculate that the singularity at the origin of the universe did not necessarily have to have a cause; that we are required to assume something had to exist before the singularity. Quantuum foam could be a plausible mechanism for the origin of the universe.

Wrapping up: No one knows how the universe originated. Seems to me that quantum fluctuations are just as plausible as the literal account in the book of Genesis. It is ultimately a question of metaphysics, not physics. I personally think we do not even yet understand the physics of how the universe originated and maybe we never will. It may always be the realm of conjecture.
