California is a Melting Pot. Founded by the Spanish. Father Junipero Serra built the 21 Missions up the Coast of California a days walk apart. Chinese came to build the Railroads. Anglos came to mine Gold.

Not all Christians are horrible people and witnessed through the lens of history, Christianity on balance has been a benefit to western civilization.

Neither are all atheists responsible for the murder of millions of Christians and Muslims in the name of state atheism of USSR, Communist China, and the French Revolution Reign of Terror.

You claim it as a 'benefit'. I would disagree. Religion stifles Free Thought. It forces people to accept a religious version of Reality. The 'Dark Ages' are aptly named, a thousand years of 'Darkness' over the 'Light' of Reason & Logic. You can wallow in 'Religion' all you want. I prefer the Renaissance.

The greater residue of religion in the United States relative to other developed nations is one of the major factors in America's freefalling global status.
