I apologized too early, what I wrote is true, a response to a comment, and part of the honest discussion. Is it against the rules to point out hypocrisy by stating true facts? @Damocles

I couldn’t say as to whether it’s a threat to our democracy but as a card carrying member of the Fourth Estate (former freelance photo-journalist) I can tell you that it, along with outlets like MSNOW are a threat to good journalism.

They are basically flat out editorial broadcasts. Pundits, not news castors, not marking their editorials as the opinions they are but calling it “news”. Now, NewsMax and MSNOW are bad but OAN is outrageous about this. It’s old school “yellow journalism”. A throwback to Sinclair Lewis and his like.

We need our journalists to keep their opinions to themselves and just give the: who, what, where, when how and why of it. Let the listeners make up their own minds. And if you’re giving an editorial make darn sure it’s marked boldly as an opinion piece.

I am not advocating taking these networks off the air, I am pointing out that when they broadcast lies, and so many unstable people fall for it, it is harmful.
