California lands six universities in the global top 25

That’s nothing compared to the pre-oil bust of 1986.

If you actually worked in NO in the 90s to experience the culture you more than likely were a waiter.
Your claim was that couldn't conceivably have worked for an oil company in New Orleans because they all bugged out.

I proved your claim was wrong, as verified by multiple independent news sources.

It obviously bothers you that you repeatedly failed to prove I am a notorious liar, lol

REJOICE! Cypress has WON! He has proven beyond all doubt that he is a MAN OF TROOOTH. A man whose light shines unto the benighted, a man who stands in the vanguard of DECENCY and AMERICA. Truth, justice, decency, all the virtues devolve to Cypress. Behold no man greater has strode the halls of JPP, nor will his equal likely be found in the long march of history.

SELAH!

Skeleton crews. I was there in 1986 when the industry bugged out .
And you only came up with the lie that you lived there after I said how NO was such a dangerous city to live in, especially in the 90s.
You claimed it was perfectly safe because you lived there for a couple of years and didn’t get murdered.

I lived in N'awlins in the early 90's. That was about the time a family of tourists decided to be stupid and gave chase to a group of young men who had stolen their property. The tourists died. It was also about the time that some yahoo at one night's festivities during one of the festivals (not sure which one, might have been NYE) fired a gun into the air and the bullet didn't go into orbit but rather came back down and into a young girl's head.

I lived out near Kenner so I was out in the burbs and felt reasonably safe, but there were places in NO that I would not have wanted to be. Some of the worst most grinding poverty I've ever seen in public spaces. I worked in the city but up near UNO so, again, out of the nitty gritty of the downtown.

You're moon walking backwards away from your original claim. You're original claim - which you've now abandoned - was that it was inconceivable that I worked for an oil company in NO in the 90s because they all bugged out.

Now you've walked back your claim, and retreated to saying they just downsized. That retreat does absolutely nothing to support your claim I supposedly lied about my career.
If you actually worked in NO in the 90s to experience the culture you more than likely were a waiter.
You've obviously spent several years assuming, hoping, and wishing that I am a college dropout slogging my way through a series of subpar jobs. And you are currently agitated that all your assumptions and hopes were nothing but complete horseshit.

Is there a rule in MAGA-world that everyone must hate N.O.? I took the transfer from Houston to N.O. knowing I would enjoy working there for a few years. In the 1990s I preferred the culture, ambience, tradition, and food of New Orleans more than Houston.

I don't give a shit if you hated NO and your job there. That's your problem.

I walked around the central business district, the French Quarter, the River Walk for two years and never saw a crime.

My two best friends lived in the Cotton Gin condominiums in the Warehouse district and in the Garden District, respectively. They never told me of any close calls with violent crimes.

There are neighborhoods to stay out of, but I had no business or reason to visit those neighborhoods anyway.

I thought New Orleans was a great American city for it's culture, ambience, music, traditions, and food, as long as one exercises reasonable caution. MAGA morons seem to have visceral hatred for the city.

They did. The city dried up. Started in 1986 and the bottom fell out by the end of the decade.

By a lot.

Oil companies in NO weren’t making new hires in the early 90s
You've obviously spent several years assuming, hoping, and wishing that I am a college dropout slogging my way through a series of subpar jobs.
I don’t think that at all. You’re completely obsessed with your status as a student of eclectic disciplines. In fact you were obviously a professional student who failed to launch for an extended period of time.
And you are currently agitated that all your assumptions and hopes were nothing but complete horseshit.
Here you are a boomer who needs the internet for “friends” and still clinging to your status as a student of higher education when most successful boomers are fishing, golfing or traveling . School for us was another lifetime.

Is there a rule in MAGA-world that everyone must hate N.O.?
Ask them.

I wouldn’t live in Houston either.

I don’t give a shit that you don’t give a shit.

Those aren’t where the “teens” operate. Too much visibility.
My two best friends lived
Lucky them. I had two friends and an uncle that weren’t so lucky.
in the Cotton Gin condominiums in the Warehouse district and in the Garden District, respectively. They never told me of any close calls with violent crimes.
I had an office on Freret Street that was broken in to and a house on Joseph that was broken in to twice and my autos so many times that I lost count.
There are neighborhoods to stay out of, but I had no business or reason to visit those neighborhoods anyway.
I worked and lived in 70115. That’s considered one of the better areas .

It’s a great place for university and professional school.

MAGA morons seem to have visceral hatred for the city.
What MAGA morons are you referring to? I haven’t noticed.

and your job there. That's your problem.
I didn’t have a “job”. I was self employed with a bidness which I sold after six years for a nice profit. Something you wouldn’t understand.

 So very, very angry:cuss: at repeatedly failing to "prove" I am supposedly a notorious liar, and constantly changing his story about whether the oil companies all bugged out, or just downsized 🤣

Now you're retreating to speculations if any new staff got hired in the decade of the 1990s?
I took a transfer from Houston, so your most recent speculation is irrelevant, lol.

How many more goal posts are you going to move?

Fuckin' NO cockroaches. A lot of 'em came here after Katrina and tried to pull the shit they got away with in NO.
Yeah, they got many years in Fl State prison.

New Orleans is the epicenter for the best higher education in Louisiana.
Tulane University is ranked #59 in the nation, while LSU is ranked #202 🤣

New Orleans is the epicenter for the best higher education in Louisiana.
So why didn’t you stay if you loved it so much? You coulda got another degree there and further delayed adulthood another two or three years.
Tulane University is ranked #59 in the nation,
Looking back I’da preferred going there but no way the p’s could have afforded it.
Additionally I could have rostered on their tennis team having beaten one of their players in the southern sectionals as well as in h.s. and state tournaments.

LSU was too big. I woulda preferred going to Northwestern State in Natchitoches too.
while LSU is ranked #202 🤣
Tulane doesn’t have the professional college I went to so they have no ranking.
Are you saying I woulda been more successful if i went to one of those universities you couldn’t get into?
I don’t recall one customer of mine that asked where I went to professional college.

I don't give a rat's ass where you went to college or what your professional degree is.

I'm taking exception to you and Murphy taking turns tearing down New Orleans as supposedly an appalling shithole. Something to be avoided like the plague.

I thought New Orleans was a great and classic American city with culture, ambiance, tradition, music, food easily surpassing anything I ever experienced in Houston, San Antonio, Jacksonville, El Paso, Orlando, Phoenix, Tampa, Baltimore, Denver.

On top of that New Orleans has the best higher education in the whole state of Louisiana.

I'm just not seeing the reasons to look down your noses at N.O. and write it off as a dystopian hellscape.

You shouldn’t. Why do you expect the whole fucking board to care about all the vaunted universities you mention that you couldn’t get in to?
I'm taking exception to you and Murphy
Don’t forget @Matt Dillon
taking turns tearing down New Orleans as supposedly an appalling shithole. Something to be avoided like the plague.
Loved it for four years while in school there. After that the seedy underbelly exposed itself.
How long did you live there? And why didn’t you stay?

See above.^

So why didn’t you get another useless degree there if that means so much to you?
I'm just not seeing the reasons to look down your noses at N.O. and write it off as a dystopian hellscape.
You don’t see it because you weren’t there long enough to experience the reality of it.

You shouldn’t. Why do you expect the whole fucking board to care about all the vaunted universities you mention that you couldn’t get in to?
You cared. You've paid extremely close attention and practically have done nothing but post on my threads about higher education.

It's too late for you to backtrack now and deny that you've done almost nothing but run down New Orleans.

I never had any intention to live on the Gulf Coast permanently.

But if I had a choice to experience living a couple years in either New Orleans, Houston, El Paso, Oklahoma City, Baltimore, or Orlando I would need only 20 seconds to make that choice.

What would you choose, Tulsa? LOL

Where did I say ANYTHING even remotely like that!
Post #463. You went on and on about the crime and poverty in New Orleans, and how you basically barricaded yourself in a residential area near University of New Orleans up near Lake Pontchartrain.

You didn't say anything positive or complimentary about the culture, ambiance, aesthetics, architecture, tradition, music, or food of the classical districts of New Orleans in and around the river.

No it’s not. I’ve always said it was a great place to go to college or medical school.
But that’s a false perception. Why do you think I started my business there?
That’s much, much different than living there long enough to get murdered.
I never had any intention to live on the Gulf Coast permanently.
Sounds like it didn’t take you very long to bug out. No doubt got laid off like all the others.

Absolutely! I actually lived in Manhattan, KS for a year. Loved it. Peaceful, safe, nice folks .Not my first choice but better than ANY urban jungle.

But you laughed and mocked me for stating that I wanted to experience living in New Orleans a couple years for the culture, ambiance, and aesthetics.

But now you've flip-flopped and are obviously admitting you could understand how someone would choose to experience N.O. for a couple years.

Do you ever stop lying and being disingenuous?

Nope. Totally get that and understood . You learned. You didn’t even stay long enough to get another useless degree at Tulane.

Went on and on? I just mentioned two things and noted the poverty. If you missed the poverty you didn't live in NO. Just walk about a block out of the Garden District.

I didn't think it was a hellhole or shit hole or whatever you screamed about.

STOP LYING ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE'S POSTS YOU FUCKING HYPOCRITE.
