Geoscience
Industry-leading geology and geophysical research starts here. Our geoscience career path collects and analyzes data across the globe to identify the next opportunity for ExxonMobil to explore.

I worked in an office with technical experts to identity prospects. The only time I set foot on a drilling rig is when I helicoptered out to the platform to brief the drilling crew.

^^^^THIS is hilarious. A moron like Into the Night says "there are no geoscience jobs" and Cypress HAS TO RESPOND WITH EVIDENCE THAT THERE IS.

This is fuckin' hilarious!

Give it a rest Cy, no one takes Into's posts seriously. Do you HONESTLY think you need to prove that geology is real?

Wow you are about as easily triggered as that one famous nuclear core from the late 40's.

LOL. I would have gone to Nigeria

So your work on the Nigerian fields was done from the States, eh? Sitting in an office reading geophysics logs?

Petroleum engineers and geoscientists in the NOLA oil patch were paid very well. And I had fun in NOLA. That's all that matters to me. It obviously stresses you out.

I can see how you had fun in NOLA because you found Airline Highway to be "cool". Guess you thought those women were having a good time of it.

Seems interesting how little you seem to care about anyone but your own pleasure seeking. NOLA in the 90's represented a lot of crime and poverty which you just turned a BLIND EYE toward. I can only assume you simply were TOO PRIVILEGED and as Moose noted probably lived in a corporate apartment condo and kept away from the scary poor people.

God you represent the WORST of white people in NOLA at the time. Just oblivious to the pain of others. Because you could get GOOD COFFEE AT CDM.

Your morality seems to really SUUUUUUUUCK, Cypress. I gotta admit.

So he went to the poorest state in the country to find work. Doesn't add up.

Oh I can totally understand it. I knew quite a few folks who went into the oil patch and indeed the Gulf Coast was the place to go.

One of my fellow grad students wound up working as a geophysicist with the Dept of Interior dealing with gulf coast energy resources.

@Cypress Two weeks later and the weirdos are *still* at it. A whole forum full of different topics and what do they choose? YOU! Lucky you.

Weirdo? Interesting choice from a retired morbidly obese "nurse" who spends all day every day either masturbating to her own thread about how wonderful she is or kvetching about other people's posts without adding any content.

You have a rich life. I'm sure your grandchildren greatly enjoy visiting "grammy" even though she can no longer effectively wash in those hard-to-reach places and smells kinda funny.

Correct. In the 1990s Exxon Exploration Company (EEC) was located in an office complex in the Greenspoint neighborhood of Houston which housed the technical staff responsible evaluating offshore and deepwater petroleum prospects in Nigeria, Angola, Brazil, deepwater Gulf of Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, etc.

This may shock and amaze you, but in the late 20th century you could evaluate digital 3-D seismic data, gravity data, and digital well log data from the comfort of an air conditioned office in Houston Texas. You didn't have to do it from Lagos Nigeria.

AFAIK, The Exxon affiliate offices located in Africa mostly dealt with production, pipeline, drilling, and engineering issues.

These love-stricken stalkers are more interested in the minutia and details of my career and professional responsibilities than any girlfriend or wife of mine ever was! Should I be creeped out? lol

So...."pushing papers around a desk". Got it.

Nope, no paper. Seismic, gravity, and well log data are all digitized and the multinational oil companies had world class technology to handle and evaluate the copious amounts of data they acquired and maintained.

What is something real, tangible, and useful to America your professional work helped produce, assuming you had a career.

LOL. Way to be hyperliteral.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Got it. Again, hyperliteral Cypress shows his neurodivergence.

What is something real, tangible, and useful to America your professional work helped produce, assuming you had a career.

Hmmm, 20 patents, that do it for ya?

She is fit and trim as so I have confirmed from multiple photos.

You visited NOLA and never saw any poverty and thought Airline Highway was just fine. That tells me a LOT about what you think is "fit and trim".
