I've been recording shows off BBC America to watch at my leisure. There are a lot of commercials showing older people explaining the advantages of owning gold coins. It's the same logic as seen on a lot of Fox News advertisements. Every time one of those comes up, I'm reminded of the Twilight Zone episode "The Rip Van Wrinkle Caper".Exactly right.
My best friend was confused by the movie, but I told him to read the novel. Which he did. Then when he saw the film the second time it made a lot more sense to him.
I used to have both gold and silver, but sold most of it 15 years ago to buy something more practical: a new and improved septic system. LOL
Now I only invest in ammo and toilet paper....which really came in handy during the pandemic.
It's free on Tubi and Pluto TV
Four thieves steal $1 million in gold bullion in a train robbery and hide the money in a mountainside cave. The four plan to go into suspended animation for approximately 100 years when they hope to awaken as extremely rich men with their heist long forgotten. When they awaken, they're not quite sure what year it is. One of them, De Cruz, has his eye on getting as much of the gold for himself as he possibly can. The world they have awakened in isn't exactly what they had hoped for.
