That's great except that's not going to happen. If denied welfare or assistance (which is almost unlikely since there are many volunteer kitchens who'll feed them) in order to survive, they'll resort to petty crimes in order to eat. Either way there is no clear winner on either side on this. Better for businesses to man up, pay a living wage, etc and hire the best who apply for employment, otherwise nothing will change from what it is currently.

Of course it wont yet, the Victim Culture Cult has been rotting out this society for over 50 years.

America's standard of living is about to collapse however, Big Pain will fix America, eventually.
 
This is a great point to mention again how often it happens the people would rather die then admit to themselves that their heads have long been ordered wrong, that reality is not what they are sure that it is.

These people are essentially already dead....they will not be helping.

We all have to die someday; better to go out on your own terms then those imposed by others.

What's going to happen instead of raising wages because that will make these businesses unprofitable, is they will speed up automation instead.

Get rid of most of the wait staff in favor of DIY ordering and paying.

Automate and innovate, the future of dining.

So, all those losers who can't do technical or complex jobs are just going to be so much dead weight on society. They aren't going to get their "living wage."

It is already full speed ahead on getting rid of humans, like the ag industry has long done. There had been a sense that employing people, teaching them to work, giving them opportunity to grow and have meaning in their lives, this was all a public service, thus going high tech was bad for society.

That is all over.

Sounds rather Marxist to me but America will adapt (as it has been doing for the past 200 years) and life will go on.
 
I've sworn off all Fast Food Conglomerates and chains.

But I have discovered enough of the unique ethnic, bar-b-que, home cooking, and seafood restaurants to keep me fed now.

I know the owners and they know me on first name basis now.

Get out and explore and enjoy!

Our restaurants are all in full swing now!
 
Fast food places are desperate to get rid of humans for ordering, using AI instead....but that program is going slowly....at last report the best they can manage is a 15% error rate.

It needs to be less than 1% at least.

Any businessman I know of who does not use automation as of yet will certainly do so since it saves money once it becomes feasible whether the minimum wage is $1,25 or $20 per hour. They are not providing a charity for society but instead are running a business and if they can save money through automation, they most certainly will do so.

I am a socialist but no, it is not at all clear that America, or any of the West, will survive. A lot of the Regressives have been very clear that nation/states have outlived their usefulness and must go away...that is what open borders is all about.
 
It must be mentioned the depowering nation states was the majority of what "globalization" was all about.

But we did not make China follow the rules, and now we are rather fucked.
